If I had to pinpoint the moment my journey into music began, it was the first time I heard “Stomp!” by The Brothers Johnson in the 3rd grade. Quincy Jones’ production opened up a whole new world for me. That song taught me how to listen – I mean really listen – to music, not just as a whole but as layers, parts, and textures that made up something magical.

From the backing vocals, the punchy bassline, the sweeping strings, and even the effects on the chorus – my mind could split each element apart, like Quincy Jones was giving me a masterclass in real-time. That was the day I knew I was destined to produce music.

I truly wish I could have thank him in person…but nonetheless…Thank you, Mr. Jones, for showing me that music isn’t just heard, it’s felt, dissected, and woven together to create something beautiful. 🌟
