As promised a few days ago...when my initial thoughts were that was going to act on and pull it away from the coastline with the ridge of high pressure coming in to help in continuing the push out to sea...has panned out (attached my receipt).

This doesn't mean that we get away completely clean from these storms. With Humberto splitting between the US and Bermuda will bring some windy conditions Tuesday and Wednesday with some gusts over 40+ mph possible at our beach towns. Along with this, some coastal flooding and beach erosion is possible with a few high tide cycles this week.

Once the storms depart on Wednesday, conditions will calm as the monster ridge of high pressure takes control of our forecast for the rest of the week and into the weekend.

On this Monday, we will see some extra clouds as a little moisture from Imelda sneaks to the north and could even bring a few stray shower later this evening and overnight tonight. Temperatures today will climb up into the 70s and the wind starts to pick up overnight in off the Atlantic.

There is some fog across Delmarva this morning and it is thick in some places. Be mindful of that as we are still a couple hours away from the sun coming up! I'll have more on the forecast the next couple of hours on tv and here on social media. :)

☁️ GOOD AFTERNOON DELMARVA!

After some showers and thunderstorms this morning, we've seen some sun!

The evening will be quiet tonight as clouds move back in, but I'm not expecting anything more than maybe a few sprinkles tonight.

Wet weather returns for the weekend, but it won't be a total washout.

I'll have the weekend forecast and a tropical update coming up on the WBOC News at 4, 6, & 7 on WBOC, and at 5 on Fox 21.

See you then! 😎

🌥 GOOD AFTERNOON DELMARVA!

It's a warm one on our pleasant peninsula, with many locations in the mid and even upper 80s!

There are a lot of clouds, although we're seeing peeks of sun here and there that are helping to destabilize the atmosphere somewhat.

A cold front is approaching from the northwest, which has the potential to trigger some scattered showers and possibly even a thunderstorm.

Most folks won't see a thunderstorm tonight, but any thunderstorms could be strong to severe with damaging wind gusts the main threat. There is an extremely low, but non-zero, threat of a brief spin-up tornado.

I'll have my eye on the radar all evening and will let you know about anything dangerous that pops up.

Otherwise, lots of clouds are in the forecast, with scattered showers.

I'll have the details and more coming up on the WBOC News at 4, 6, & 7 on WBOC, and at 5 on Fox 21.

See you then! 😎

Tropics Update 09/25/25 6am:

has formed in the open waters of the Atlantic while we wait for to form to the west of Humberto. This will probably happen in the next couple of days and then these storms will do the two-step toward the coast.

Humberto will be the stronger storm and will stay out to sea in the Atlantic. Imelda is the storm we will have to keep a close eye on over the coming days. Indications are this storm will move toward the coast of the Carolinas by Sunday and Monday of next week and then park itself just to the south. Eventually, the idea is that Humberto will grab Imelda and pull the storm out to sea with it and away from the coast.

This will be a very tricky forecast and will probably shift and change a bunch because a few things will be at work to move these storms in the atmosphere. The first being the idea of these two strong and powerful storms near each other. When you get storms this close together, something we call the "Fujiwara Effect" could occur. When this happens the stronger storm becomes the lead in a waltz that the storms will do around each other. We need the Fujiwara Effect to happen to protect the coast from Imelda from the coast. We also will need Humberto to actually become the stronger of the two storms in order for this to work in our favor.

We are also watching that front that brings showers and storms tonight across the Peninsula. This front will act as a block to try and keep the storm to our south early next week. As the ridge of high pressure comes diving in from Canada for later in the week next week, this ridge should help to also nudge to storm out to sea as well.

This are my thoughts on what I have looked at from the morning model runs of the tropics. Again, this forecast is going to be changing a lot over the coming days and if any parts of this forecast shift...will drastically change the forecast in the coming days.

We continue to just "wait and see" and I'm giving you my honest thoughts of what should happen with these storms the next several days. This could drastically change and we will be around fine tuning the forecast as we get closer to closer to early next week.

A soupy start with a few showers across northern and western parts of Delmarva at the moment. Everyone gets a shot of a few showers and storms later this afternoon and this evening as the cold front slowly moves across Delmarva. Temperatures ahead of the front jump up into the 80s. A few of these storms tonight could pack a punch with strong and gusty winds, very heavy rain, along with lots of lightning.

Showers and storms will linger overnight tonight into early on Friday before the front dives to our south for night one of Ocean's Calling.

🌀 TROPICAL STORM "HUMBERTO"...

Tropical Storm "Humberto" has formed in the Atlantic, several hundred miles northeast of the Lesser Antilles. It is forecast to become a hurricane sometime this weekend as it tracks toward the U.S. East Coast.

The current forecast track only takes the storm to just southwest of Bermuda.

This means that direct effects on the U.S. East Coast are not a certainty, but all on the coast need to keep an eye on this storm as it's path could be quite unpredictable, especially if a tropical wave to "Humberto's" west develops into another tropical storm. The interactions between these two possible storms could make for a tricky forecast.

☁️ GOOD AFTERNOON DELMARVA!

It has been a cloudy day on the peninsula, but most folks have stayed dry, which has been great news for those who came out for the Crisfield Crab and Clam Bake!

Shower activity this afternoon has mostly been confined to parts of Delmarva north of Dover and up into Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

I am expecting more of those showers and thunderstorms to make their way to the rest of Delmarva this evening; it will be one of those situations where not everyone will see a shower or thunderstorm, but those who do could experience some gusty downpours, so keep that in mind if you have to head out to do errands this evening.

A better chance for stronger thunderstorms is in the forecast for Thursday, and it could be a while before we see the sun again.

I'll have the forecast coming up on the WBOC News at 5 on Fox 21, and at 6 and 7 on WBOC.

See you then! 😎

Tropics Update 09/24/25 5:45am:

So, here are my latest thoughts on the two systems that we will likely see form in the Atlantic over the next several days. We will be watching both these area of thunderstorms form into our next two tropical systems named Humberto and Imelda.

Humberto will form first, but stay out to sea. We need Humberto because that storm will be one of the determining factors in keeping Imelda to our south and then out the sea. That has been my thoughts on that storm for the last 24 hours, but it does sneak close enough to the coast of the Carolinas that clouds and even a few rain showers from the bands off that storm could impact us for Sunday into Monday and Tuesday.

Along with Humberto, the high diving in from Canada will help to nudge the storm back to the east and out to sea. There are, of course, a couple of other factors in the mid and upper-levels that we will need to watch and this forecast can still shift.

We are still in the "wait and see what happens" as the storms form over the next few days. We will keep you updated on any changes to the forecast if necessary. Just wanted to keep you guys updated on where we sit this morning.

Even stickier this morning out the door as the humidity has gone up overnight and will lead to temperatures in the 80s inland this afternoon. It will be a touch cooler at the beach once the sea breeze kicks in this afternoon. We could see a few showers and storms later today, but a better chance for more widespread storms arrives for late in the day Thursday.

⛅️ GOOD AFTERNOON DELMARVA!

There have been some clouds out there today, but the Sun has made an appearance this afternoon, which has warmed us up nicely, with most locations in the low to mid 80s, and 70s at the coast thanks to a southerly breeze.

The evening is looking quiet for most, with partly cloudy skies. However, a weak cold front could trigger some showers and thunderstorms this evening, mainly over the Midshore and Delaware.

Severe storms are not likely, but some gusty winds in downpours could be possible.

More unsettled weather is on the way for the rest of the week.

I'll have the forecast details coming up on the WBOC News at 4, 6, & 7 on WBOC, and at 5 on Fox 21.

See you then! 😎
