Salt Lickin’ and Park Pickin’ – Rain Couldn’t Stop the Music

This past Saturday was supposed to be another great evening at the Salt Lick Community Park. It was only the second show in our summer concert series—and the rain wasn’t expected until later.

But Kentucky had other plans. Torrential downpours came fast, soaking the stage, the vendors, and all the equipment. By the second song, we had to scramble. I was drenched head to toe running sound gear through the storm. It felt like the whole thing might be lost.

But then something special happened. The band didn’t quit. We packed it all up and took the show home to Debbie’s Music Theatre.

There was no crowd, no spotlight—just family, soaking wet and gathered around the music. And in that moment, something real happened.
The rain didn’t stop the show.
The music lived on at Debbie’s.

What a weekend at Debbie’s. 💫

We kicked things off Friday with the Salt Lick Food & Music Festival—a full day of unforgettable performances, hometown food, and community spirit. From Billy Stegall to Laid Back Country Picker, the stage stayed hot and the crowd stayed loud.

Then on Sunday, we packed the house again for Bill Kelly’s Birthday Bash—an all-out Elvis celebration with Bill, Todd Bodenheimer, and Matt Cordell. The energy, the outfits, the love in the room—it was a night to remember.
