My stomach dropped. Was he about to confess a dark secret? Had he changed his mind about our marriage? A thousand terrifying thoughts ran through my head in seconds.

But then he reached into his nightstand and pulled out… a diary.

“I’ve been waiting for this night for years,” he said, his voice shaking. “I’ve written letters to my future wife since I was 25. I never knew it would be you, but now that you are here, I want you to have them.”

I took the diary, my hands trembling, and flipped through the pages. Each letter was filled with love, hopes, and dreams—every single one meant for the woman he would one day marry. Tears welled up in my eyes.

I had spent years searching for love, doubting if I’d ever find it. And here was a man who had unknowingly been writing to me all along.
