Plein Air Texas EnPleinAirTEXAS is a national juried plein air competition hosted by the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts What is EnPleinAirTEXAS?

EnPleinAirTEXAS is held annually in San Angelo, Texas. Artists from anywhere in the world can apply beginning January 1 of each year to be one of the 34 Competition Artists selected who compete for a week in October, painting outdoors, 'en plein air'. Applications are taken on the website, enpleinairTEXAS.com. Over $20,000 in cash awards are presented at "The STAMPEDE" - an Exhibit, Awards Party &

Sale at the National Historic Landmark, Fort Concho Stabels. The event is hosted by the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts, awarded numerous prestigious national honors; along with a colorful palette of talented and energetic volunteers and local artists. All proceeds benefit the Art Museum's education programs.

The four selected artists will be able to immerse themselves in the authentic ranch culture of West Texas, painting & living on a private ranch for three weeks. The Fellowship emphasizes the plein air experience & encourages artistic growth & creativity. was quite a hit in Easton, MD at the party for the Artists after the QuickDraw on Saturday!
A surprise downpour got the event started but the artists were undaunted, creating some fabulous paintings in 2 hours!
