Life can be poetic. Earlier this month John “Ozzy” Osbourne performed his final live show after a 50+ year music career, in what was described as the perfect farewell for a legend and his fellow Black Sabbath bandmates. Today he passed away.

One of the very first songs I ever heard as a kid was Black Sabbath’s “Iron Man”, it was my first exposure to a music world of “heavy authenticity”, and I have vibed with it ever since then. The tales of Ozzy became urban legend to us kids growing up in the 2000’s. “Is it true he bit off and ate a bat’s head?” One thing for sure is the music he created always hit the mark and you knew it was Ozzy singing with his one of a kind voice. "Believer" remains my favorite song from Ozzy. From Black Sabbath inventing heavy metal, to his solo career and the all-star lineups that accompanied him, Ozzy was a once in a lifetime talent and immortalized himself as one of the icons of heavy metal. RIP.

I'm flying back home to San Antonio today after a week in California attending NAMM Show 2025 and the 9th Annual Metal Hall of Fame Awards!
