🎥 We just wrapped a special episode of The San Antonio Referral Room for our client and award-winning realtor Bert Taddei, featuring none other than Dr. Sukh Kaur, District 1 Councilwoman!

Even more special: our daughter Olivia kicked off the shoot by clapping the clapperboard—making it a true family affair.

Through our page, Rich & Emi in SA, we're proud to support local businesses like Bert's by bringing their vision to life through content, events, and creative storytelling.

If you’re looking for ways to level up your brand or project, we’d love to connect!

The work is an important piece of the equation to walk out our purpose. However, remembering that the work is just a piece and does not take precedence over the whole is how we accomplish the goal while maintaining what's important.

For us, it's about the family time. A weekly routine is how we try to make sure the work doesn't undermine the main objective.

Monday - Do what you want (individual time)

Tuesday - Date Night for us (Brother/Sister bonding for the kids)

Wednesday - Family Night (also talk with grandparents)

Thursday - Tech-Free Thursday (Board games, talking and instruments)

Friday - Family Fun Friday

Saturday - Get out and about and Church

Sunday - Sunday Fun Day (fun food and much needed relaxation)

We definitely don't get it perfect all of the time, but we have these set in place as guides to help us accomplish the family goals that we've set.

What works for you?

What's your consistent go-to that gets you into "Go-Mode?"

For me, J Dilla instrumentals have been helping me increase productivity for the past couple years or so. After a full day, sometimes it's tough to sit down and dedicate the time we need to accomplish our goals. For me, his music is genius and it inspires me to bring the same amount of greatness to my work that he did to his.

What's yours? Is it music? Art or photographs? I'd love to know. Share what you do to get in the zone when it's go-time for you!

Some pretty awesome stuff can come along with staying in the moment. Even if it's tough to do, it's worth your while to work on developing that ability.

During Compassionate USA's one year celebration, I heard someone say something along the lines of "we can spread compassion to the world, but it has to begin with us having compassion for ourselves." Now that right there is some solid advice.

Adding your good habits on top of your bad habits may seem counter intuitive but it may be one of the best ways to force the bad habits out of the way in order to make room for the healthier more beneficial habits you're trying to build into your life.

June 12th was the day that the Pilipino people declared themselves free. Both Spain and the US chose to not recognize the Pilipino declaration. The leaders of the Philippine Revolution touched on their historical base. They knew of the freedom their people had before colonization, so they stood for their God-given independence. Those leaders took a stance that wasn't legal, but it was just.

In the late 1890's they declared themselves free, and fought on that truth. It was another forty-five years before they were independent of both Spain and the US. However, the reality of the Independence their descendants now enjoy freely is the result of the illegal beliefs and declaration of the heroes who rebelled against legalized injustice and oppression.

In 1962, President Diosdado Macapagal issued Presidential Proclamation No. 28, which declared June 12 a special public holiday throughout the Philippines. His reasoning was "in commemoration of our people's declaration of their inherent and inalienable right to freedom and independence." This celebration is significant for the people of the Philippines. It should be encouraging to all of us as it signifies the will and spirit to fight for justice, regardless of what exterior forces say.

It was required for us to sing our national anthem, Lupang Hinirang, everyday before school starts. On our final exam, we were tested on how well we know the words to our national anthem.

Do you know the Philippine national anthem Lupang Hinirang? If someone asked you to sing it word for word, would you be able to?
