Today is Veterans Day, when we honor all who have served in the United States Armed Forces. 🎇 Children's Book Week: Celebrating the Magic Makers Who Shape Young Minds 🎇

As Children's Book Week (November 3-9) comes to a close, we celebrate the incredible authors who create the first stories that capture young imaginations.

At CDFCO, we've had the privilege of publishing children's book authors who understand something profound: the books we read as children stay with us forever, shaping our values, expanding our worldviews, and igniting lifelong love affairs with reading.

Children's literature is deceptively challenging to create. It requires the ability to see the world through young eyes while crafting narratives that entertain, educate, and inspire. The best children's books tackle important themes: friendship, courage, problem solving, self acceptance; in ways that resonate with young readers without talking down to them. These stories become bedtime rituals, classroom favorites, and treasured memories passed down through families.

We're proud to spotlight two exceptional children's book authors from our CDFCO family: Ellen Zimmerman, whose "Smudge and Charlie on the Farm" introduces young readers to farm life and animal friendships with warmth and humor, and P.G. November is Native American Heritage Month, and at CDFCO, we're honored to amplify Indigenous voices through publishing. This month celebrates the rich history, vibrant cultures, and invaluable contributions of Native American communities --- contributions that have shaped this land long before it bore the name America.

Native American stories carry more than entertainment: they preserve languages, traditions, and wisdom that connect past generations to future ones. These narratives correct historical inaccuracies, share authentic Indigenous experiences, and ensure that Native voices tell their own stories rather than having them interpreted by others. Publishing Indigenous authors is a responsibility we take seriously, approaching each manuscript with cultural sensitivity and genuine partnership.

We're proud to have published A.V. King's "Adin Elijah and the Medallion of Destiny," a powerful fiction title that weaves Native American themes and ideas into an adventure that young readers can't put down. Twenty years ago today, on November 5, 2005: I started Cedric D. Fisher & Company Publishers in Princeton, New Jersey, with two magazines: New Jersey's INFLUENCE Magazine and New Jersey's Real Estate Executive Magazine.

Two decades later, we're still here. Still publishing. Still telling stories that matter.

The products have evolved. The locations have changed. The technology has transformed. But what hasn't changed is our commitment to excellence and our mission to amplify voices that deserve to be heard.

I've been blessed to work alongside some of the most talented professionals in the business; through thriving seasons and challenging ones. Several are still with me today, and I'm grateful for every single person who has contributed to this journey.

From New Jersey to Texas, from print to multimedia, from local impact to national reach, we've figured it out, stayed cutting edge, and remained relevant.
