To all of our new followers, we’re so glad you’re here! Pull up a rocking chair and make yourself at home. 🥰

This little corner is a place for encouragement, prayer, fellowship, and most of all, the Word of God. My prayer is that whenever you stop by, you’ll find something that points your heart toward Jesus.

Our foundation is found in Psalm 61:3–4 KJV:

“For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy. I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.”

And around here, we always say:

“We’re just tending the front porch.” 🤎

Because this page, the people who gather here, the Word we share, and every bit of the glory belong to God. We’re simply blessed to tend the porch He’s given us.

📖 DID YOU KNOW?

The Bible Never Says Eve Ate an Apple 🍎

Most of us have seen the picture: Eve standing in the Garden of Eden holding an apple. For centuries, artwork, books, and stories have pictured the forbidden fruit as an apple.

But did you know the Bible never tells us what kind of fruit it was?

God gave Adam one specific command concerning the tree of the knowledge of good and evil:

Genesis 2:16–17 KJV
“And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:
But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”

Later, when the serpent tempted Eve, Scripture tells us:

Genesis 3:6 KJV
“And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”

Notice what the Bible says: “the fruit thereof.”

It never says apple. 🍎
It never identifies the fruit at all.

And there’s something even more important here than identifying the fruit.

🌿 The issue wasn’t the fruit. It was disobedience.

God had clearly spoken. Adam and Eve knew His command, but they chose to disobey it.

The serpent’s temptation also began by causing Eve to question what God had actually said:

Genesis 3:1 KJV
“Yea, hath God said…?”

That same lesson is important for us today. We should know what God’s Word actually says, rather than simply accepting something because we have heard it repeated many times.

Tradition may say apple.

Scripture simply says fruit.

And when the Bible does not give us a detail, we should be careful not to add one.

❤️ Something to think about:

How many things have we believed about the Bible simply because we have heard them all our lives?

This is why studying Scripture for ourselves matters. Read the verses. Look at the context. Compare Scripture with Scripture.

Never build what we believe on tradition when we can open the Bible and see what God actually said.

📖 Don’t just take someone’s word for it—even mine. Open your Bible and study it for yourself.

Good Morning Prayer 🙏🏼🍂

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of this beautiful new day. As we begin this first day of fall, remind us that through every changing season, You never change. Thank You for Your goodness, Your mercy, and the many blessings You so faithfully give us.

Lord, guide our steps today. Fill our hearts with Your peace, help us to walk in love and kindness, and keep our minds stayed upon You. Whatever this day may bring, help us to trust You completely and remember that You are always with us.

May our words honor You, our lives be a light to others, and our hearts remain grateful for all You have done.
