Peace.
Here are reflections (photos) from last week’s Black History youth class.
My BUSINESS is Black History, so throughout the year I teach and document our stories and experiences. I interview people, record, research, learn and teach. So during Black History Month we are extremely busy; sharing information helping organizations, and hosting events.
However I make time for the things that I deem important, and for the last two years I have taught a free 3 - Week youth class. It is one of the most SATISFYING things that I do!
I am always amazed at how easily they retain information and catch on. I don’t know who enjoys it more, me or them!
I could say so much, however I would like to make one point specifically; children are so divine.
They are honest and so real, they represent humanity in its purest form. I love watching them discover new things, compete to answer questions and LEARN! They soak up the information so easily, it’s amazing to watch and I see it as a privilege to spend time with them.
Thank you to the parents for trusting in us and supporting this effort.
We have one more session this Sunday for those who are interested in attending.
