How I packed for 5 days at a beach house as the unofficial travel manager for a family of 5 😂🏖️

My goal is always the same: pack what we actually need, keep everyone’s stuff organized, and make it as easy as possible to unpack once we get there.
For trips where we’re going straight to our accommodation and I don’t have to roll up to a fancy hotel lobby, I skip the suitcases and use one big rolling bin instead. It fits so much more and makes loading and unloading everything way easier.
Before putting them in a packing cube, I lay out all the kids’ clothes and sort everything by category: outfits, pajamas, swimsuits, underwear, etc. It makes it so much easier to see what we have, what we’re missing, and if I’m overpacking.
I use a different color packing cube for each family member. It keeps everyone’s clothes organized and makes it easy for the kids to find their own things, unpack, and get dressed independently.
I decant our toiletries into these little flat pouches instead of bringing bulky bottles. They take up so much less room, especially when packing for five.
One of my favorite little travel finds! I can put our bar soap in here wet and it can dry through the bag instead of sitting soggy in a regular soap container.
I pack a dedicated beach bag before we leave so all of our beach essentials are together and ready to grab once we get there.
No need to buy new beach toys when we get there! I pack a few favorites from home so the kids have plenty to play with—and we’re not spending money on more toys we definitely don’t need. 😂
I keep all the kids’ entertainment in one organizer that we can hang in the car for the road trip, then easily grab and bring into restaurants or anywhere we need a little entertainment on the go.
Beach house trip was a success! Happy travels from our family of 5. 🏖️
