“As a DJ, I specialize in curating dynamic all-vinyl sets that blend Soul, Jazz, Funk, Disco, and House music. My selections honor the rich history of dance culture, drawing heavily from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s while seamlessly incorporating contemporary sounds.”

“I’m honored to be involved in this fantastic community event with the gifted KRTU Indie team. I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to play a three-hour DJ set, which allows me the space to build a real narrative and vibe, something I’m calling JJ’s Balearic Beat…Expect a rich, varied mix drawing inspiration from 80s House and 90s Rave Culture – a sound celebrating freedom, community, and dance history - perfect for a sunset dance party! “

“Collective Dreams is an instrumental rock band from San Antonio, TX. We blend post-rock with energetic, danceable rhythms and emotive soundscapes, influenced by Toe, The Mars Volta, and DIIV.”

📍Where are you from?

“Based in San Antonio by way of Abilene, Corpus Christi, Cartagena, and Medina County.”

🤩 What are you most excited about for KRTUfest?

“We’re beyond excited to be headlining KRTUfest at the historic Carver Community Cultural Center’s Little Carver Stage. It’s an incredible opportunity to connect with our local community and share our music with the passionate KRTU audience. As a band that’s deeply tied to San Antonio, it’s an honor to be part of such a special event supporting local music and culture.“

🎶What type of music do you play?

“We are influenced by such different kinds of genres… [the] main three bands as of this moment that inspire the music that we write are Oasis, Alice in Chains, and Fontaines DC. If I had to put a label on our music it would probably be ‘alternative rock’”

📍Where are you from?

“We all are either attending Trinity [University] or have attended Trinity in the past. We all met on campus but we are all from different places. I am from Katy, TX, Jack is from Dallas, TX, Cora is from San Antonio, and Mark is a foreign student from Kazakhstan.”

🤩 What are you most excited about for KRTUfest?

“I think we are just excited to share our music with other people. None of us are music or art majors so very rarely do we get to share our art with other people. Ever since I stumbled upon KRTUfest back in 2023 … I really wanted to be a part of the festival. That was about a year before The Slydes formed, so it really has been a dream come true. “
