🎭 ABOUT THE TEJANA WOMEN
The Tejana Women follows Henriqua, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose life is upended when an ICE raid tears her family apart.
Trapped in a sweltering ICE detention facility somewhere along the Texas border, Henriqua struggles to understand why she and her family were targeted and what has happened to those she loves.
As she meets one by one with her surviving daughters—each eventually forced to leave—Henriqua must ultimately face an unimaginable truth:
The home and life she once knew are no more.
A modern reimagining of The Trojan Women, this powerful work explores what it means to become the victim of an unexpected war—one that leaves you feeling powerless and like a stranger in your own land.
