The last original painting I sold here on my page was this one of Dolly. That was only a couple of weeks ago, and so many of you saw it and asked—begged, really—for prints.

I had no idea then that we would be losing her so soon!!!! 😭😭

So yes, I’m making reproduction art prints of this painting available, but it only feels right that half of the proceeds from these prints will be donated to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library!!

That foundation has given millions of books to children, and it was born from something deeply personal to Dolly—her father never had the opportunity to learn to read or write. I STILL have some of the books my own family received through the Imagination Library, which makes this especially meaningful to me.

Many of you know how much stories, words, writing and passing those things down mean to me, so it is an honor to give something back to a foundation built on exactly that.

Dolly was also so, so kind and good to our family when my grandmother, Dottie West, died. I have never forgotten that.

I’ve loved reading everyone’s Dolly stories these past few days. For someone who accomplished as much as she did, what keeps showing up over and over again isn’t just the fame, the songs or the career, it’s her kindness. Her generosity. The way she made people feel.

What an incredible legacy to leave behind! May we all strive for THAT type of legacy!!!

Dolly Parton was one of those super stars that you thought would live forever. I was at the Dolly Parton TV Show once but I honestly can't remember if I ever met her after the show. I have however had the chance to interview her sister Freida Parton twice. Here is the first interview! Godspeed Dolly and peace be with the Parton Family.
