UTSA Composition Studio

UTSA Composition Studio UTSA's composition studio is a vibrant part of the UTSA music department. The capstone experience is a recital featuring the student's compositions.

Students work with professors Ethan Wickman, James Syler, and Andrew Lloyd to create works for semester recitals, readings by the choirs, orchestra, and bands. The UTSA Department of Music offers a Bachelor of Music with an emphasis in Composition. This degree program prepares students with the skills to compose for various media genres. While enrolled in composition, students are also studying th

eir primary instrument, participating in ensembles, and taking courses that support the concentration. The Composition Studio are comprised of the students of professor James Syler, and Dr. Ethan Wickman.
