Narcisa Cortez Ruiz
With deep love and gratitude for her life, the family of Narcisa Cortez Ruiz announces her passing on August 25, 2025. Narcisa was born on October 29, 1938, in Cerritos, San Luis Potosí, Mexico, and later made her home in Santa Rosa, Texas, where she spent the majority of her adult life.
Narcisa lived her life fully devoted to her faith. A humble and gentle soul, she was 100 percent committed to church and a firm believer in Jesus Christ. Her favorite verse, which she carried in her heart, was:
“Porque para mí el vivir es Cristo, y el morir es ganancia” (Filipenses 1:21)
She was known by all as a woman of love, kindness, and generosity. Always ready with a warm meal, a laugh, or a word of comfort, Narcisa’s presence made everyone feel at home. She was humble yet full of life-loving, caring, funny, and deeply rooted in her values.
Narcisa was also well known and loved beyond her hometown, as her son Jesse Turner of Grupo Siggno often shared videos and special moments with her on social media, allowing thousands to experience her joy and spirit. She even inspired a song written in her honor, “Mamá”, which touched countless hearts and will forever carry her memory.
She was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Aurelia Requeña, who just weeks earlier, on August 4, 2025, entered eternal rest at the extraordinary age of 107. Their bond was a treasure in life, and now mother and daughter are lovingly reunited in the presence of the Lord.
She is survived by her children: Sandra Castillo, Isabel Belmontes, Yolanda Santa Maria, and Jesus Turner; along with 13 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her six brothers and one sister, who will continue to cherish her memory and celebrate her legacy of faith and love.
