A clenched jaw, stiff body, shallow breathing, and upset stomach, knowing I can’t be myself (because I’m too busy “keeping the peace”).

That’s how it felt to me to not rock the boat. 😞

Only what kind of so-called peace is that, anyway?

What does “not-rocking-the-boat” feel like in your body?

Isn’t it weird how “not rocking the boat” serves to keep one person (or group) comfortable…?

Yet it’s always at the cost of everyone else in the boat. 😮‍💨

Not to mention, maybe that comfortable person NEEDS their boat rocked.

Such as when their behavior is hurtful (assuming we are safe to tell them), it’s good to lovingly let them know.

How else can they learn to adjust it?

It’s MISERABLE walking on eggshells, silencing our voice, keeping their boat calm for them (even as they behave badly).

And who said we have to do that job, anyway?

Time to safely but firmly lay this demanding responsibilty down.

It’s not ours. It never was.

We are here for sooo much more than making sure their boat doesn’t get rocked.

Time to learn how to show up for our precious lives.

Time to discover how to take up space, use our voice, and step into our power as compassionate people.

Time to become boundaried.

Because you are here for more than this.
