With 24 years in the film and television industry and 13 as a producer, Chantel Gallegos Nasits brings unmatched versatility and drive to every set. She began her career while studying marketing at the University of the Incarnate Word, where a PSA project sparked her passion for storytelling and earned her first ADDY Award.

Chantel started as a stills photographer, eventually earning certification from the Professional Photographers of America. Her passion for filmmaking led her to train as a producer and earn accreditation through the Association of Independent Commercial Producers. Since then, she’s worked across nearly every department on set—Art, Camera, Makeup, Wardrobe, and more.

In 2018, she founded Horsedog Productions, Inc., offering production services throughout Texas and beyond.

Her credits include Emmy-winning television, award-winning branded content, and commercial campaigns for clients like USAA, Toyota, Snickers, TXDOT, and more. She’s worked in 13 U.S. states, across three continents, and with renowned talent including Robert Rodriguez, Spike Lee, and Willie Nelson.

In Summer 2025, Chantel joined The University of Texas at San Antonio as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in Film & Media Studies, within the Interdisciplinary School for Engagement in the College of Liberal and Fine Arts (COLFA).

She lives in San Antonio with her partner of 20+ years, two daughters, and their dogs, Yogi and Poppy, and volunteers regularly to support children and LGBTQ youth

I’ve always loved helping a new PA find their space in our crazy, magical industry. I’ve always felt so grateful for all my film production mentors, for every producer, director, production company and client to hire me and I’m honored and eager to pass along the lessons.


We are all students, the best part of learning is doing alongside others. I’m excited about what knowledge I will gain from this journey.
