COLD AIR DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN A COMFORTABLE HOME. ❄️💧

Your AC may be cooling, but if indoor humidity remains high, the house can still feel muggy, sticky and warmer than the thermostat suggests.

That’s why we look beyond just vent temperature.

Temperature + Humidity + Airflow = Comfort

Proper HVAC performance is about creating balanced indoor conditions—not simply producing the coldest supply air possible.

Texas Air Conditioning & Heating provides residential and commercial HVAC service throughout San Antonio and surrounding communities.

Why can a 75°F house still feel hot and muggy?

Because your thermostat measures temperature—not your entire comfort level.

Two homes can both be 75°F and feel completely different.

🏠 75°F + high humidity:
The air may feel sticky, heavy and uncomfortable.

🏠 75°F + controlled humidity:
The same temperature can feel cooler, drier and considerably more comfortable.

Your HVAC system’s performance involves temperature, humidity, airflow and runtime working together.

And remember: a colder supply-air temperature doesn’t automatically mean an AC system is performing better. Supply temperature needs to be evaluated along with return temperature, airflow, humidity, equipment operation and indoor conditions.

If your San Antonio home is cooling but still feels humid or uncomfortable, there may be more going on than the thermostat is showing.

Variable-Speed vs. Single-Stage: Which HVAC System Is Right for You?

If you’re considering replacing your heating and cooling system, understanding your options can make a big difference in your home’s comfort and long-term energy costs.

Single-Stage Systems
• Operate at one speed (100% ON or OFF)
• Larger temperature swings
• Louder starts and stops
• Lower initial cost

Variable-Speed Systems
• Automatically adjust to your home’s comfort needs
• More consistent indoor temperatures
• Better humidity control
• Quieter operation
• Improved energy efficiency
• Lower operating costs over time

Every home is different. Choosing the right HVAC system depends on your home’s size, insulation, comfort preferences, and budget. Our goal is to help homeowners make informed decisions with honest recommendations and quality workmanship.
