In Guangxi, private spring-fed swimming pools are often hidden in rice paddies.

❖ In early autumn in Guangxi, the sky is clear and the air is crisp. The scent of rice straw fills the air, and soaking in this crystal-clear spring-fed pool is incredibly pleasant.

❖ The water temperature is just right, and a few fish swim about. The spring flows gently, the surface sometimes still and serene, creating a tranquil atmosphere; when disturbed, it becomes lively and dynamic, displaying aesthetically pleasing shimmering reflections under the sunlight.

❖ One can't help but compose a poem: "A square pool in the rice paddy opens like a mirror, where sunlight and cloud shadows linger. How can the spring be so clear? Because it has living water flowing from underground."

A Shenzhen Worker's Salvation | A Hidden Gem: A Secluded Swimming Pool

September was a 30-day work week.
On my last day of vacation before the break,
I still chose to swim.
When stressed, all I wanted to do was sink to the bottom,
Letting the world consist only of my breathing and myself.

I highly recommend the pool at the Banyan Tree Songshan Lake.
Fully equipped, high-quality water, and most importantly, it was practically empty!
It became my secluded island 🌊

▪️ The outdoor infinity pool offers stunning views of blue skies and green trees.

▪️ The indoor heated pool was practically all to myself.

▪️ After swimming, I went to the sauna; it felt like all the stress was released through my pores.

(There were more staff than tourists, polite and discreet.)

When I got hungry, I showered and headed straight to the hotel restaurant. White wine, Brie cheese, and dried cranberries were a perfect match. A slightly tipsy moment, chatting with my boyfriend...and the day slowly passed. Then I drove an hour back to Shenzhen, ready to welcome September.
