When we first brought Cookie home, she was so skittish she would tremble just eating from my lap. We knew rabbits aren’t meant to be held, so we changed ourselves for her—never forcing, never rushing, never treating her like a puppy. We spent countless hours on the floor, meeting her at her level. She hated being held, and we accepted that, not knowing if she’d ever feel safe in our arms. We chose respect over expectation.

Now, years later, this tiny prey animal chooses to fall asleep on my chest every night. She trusts me with her most vulnerable moments. Our patience and respect were never wasted. We earned a gentle, trusting bond with this beautiful creature . Love is truly a beautiful thing 🤍

Post-op Day 6 🐰❤️

Cookie is such a fighter! I think she’s still in some pain because she doesn’t eat much of anything that requires a lot of chewing. She eats small amounts of pellets, hay, and hard treats, but mostly relies on veggies.

She can eat up to 4 plates of veggies a day! 🥬 Her favorites are wheatgrass, cilantro, and parsley. She’s the sweetest baby. She even smiles while she eats. 🥹❤️ I couldn’t be more grateful!

We have another follow-up appointment tomorrow. We’re hoping to confirm that she’s on the right track to getting healthy again. The past few days have been rough, but we’re staying hopeful and grateful for every little bit of progress. 🙏🏻🐰

Just dropped off our baby girl, Cookie, for her X-ray, and we asked the doctor to give her a little bunny MOT (check-up) while she’s there. 🐰💗

We were so surprised and happy to find out that Cookie has gained weight! Yay! 🎉 Mommy has been working hard to make mealtime fun. She plays little games with Cookie to encourage her to eat more every day. 🥹

Cookie hasn’t eaten hay for months, and honestly, we have very little hope that she’ll go back to eating raw hay. With our doctor’s advice, she is now eating senior pellets, 100% hay pellets, and vegetables. She’s still getting the nutrients she needs—just in a different texture from regular hay.

The clinic just let us know that Cookie will also be getting an occlusal adjustment today. Since she’ll be there for quite a while, Mommy packed her a little lunch box filled with her favorite foods, along with her favorite blanket. 🥕🥬🧸

We hope she can feel how much she is loved while she goes through all the necessary procedures today. ❤️
