America’s newest Medal of Honor winner is also its oldest.

The LOMA team was deeply honored to produce the tribute video honoring Captain Royce Williams USN at last week’s Midway American Patriot Award Gala, a stellar event that celebrates the true meaning of personal sacrifice and selfless service to country.

Still going strong at 101, Royce relates a jaw-dropping experience that goes well beyond ‘remarkable.’ For among his 227 combat missions is “one of the greatest feats in aviation history.” Classified as a national secret for 50 years, the story can now be told.

As only Royce can tell it.

AI said, “Hey LOMA. Help me help everyone.” So we did.

Gainwell, a leading government healthcare technology company, acts as a crucial link between state agencies, healthcare providers and members. Their new AI-assisted Call Center transcription solution will speed critical health services to millions of people. But first, the folks who operate the system must learn it.

And that’s where we come in.

Rather than producing a typical ‘explainer’ video, we employed AI video generation to build an engaging animated narrative.

By tasking emerging technologies to support an emerging technology, we mirrored the promise and performance of the client’s solution—and did so quickly and cost-effectively, with outstanding results.

Supported by an elixir of integrated AI tools, our team handled the entire creative process from character development to generating environments, animating scenes, creating voices and composing music.

We’re excited about the places AI can take us, while remaining firm in our conviction that great creative will continue to come the old fashioned way—from us humans!

A $10 million donation by the McGrath Family Foundation has brought Freedom Park closer to completion.

LOMA serves as marketing & communications partner for this ambitious effort, which will soon become a landmark destination on San Diego’s iconic waterfront. Now to be known as McGrath Freedom Park at Burnham Navy Pier, it will open in 2028.

Spearheaded by the USS Midway Museum in association with the Port of San Diego, this $77 million vision is poised to become the largest veterans park on the West Coast.

We’re proud to play a part!

Much ado about something!

LOMA supports many worthy non-profits organizations with national and regional scope, like Montana Shakespeare in the Parks (MSIP).

Every summer, they bring professional, free outdoor theatrical productions to rural and underserved communities across Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, North Dakota and Washington.

Forsooth! 54 years and counting.

We are mourning the loss of Denny Sanford this week and sending our thoughts and prayers to the rest of the Sanford community who will continue to be uplifted by his kindness for many years beyond his time with us.

The first time we filmed him, he asked the producer at the time Angelina Giovannini to make sure he didn't seem too serious on camera. She drew a happy face on a piece of computer paper and held it up behind the Director throughout the interview. Afterwards, he asked her to sign it and he put it in his jacket pocket.

We were privileged to work with him for years, helping to grow Sanford Harmony into the life-changing program it is today, one that supports teachers and helps children feel cared for and ready to learn. And do you know that each time we saw him he brought out that happy face? He said it helped remind him to smile.

Denny reminded us never to take ourselves too seriously, and to lead with kindness in everything. We'll carry that with us always. 💛

Thank you for everything, Denny. You will be deeply missed.

One of California’s most unique law enforcement agencies gets a much-deserved Thank You!

Last week, the San Diego Harbor Police Foundation’s “Honoring Our Harbor” mixer celebrated those who keep it safe each and every day. Hands-on demos and LOMA videos underscored the amazing range of service provided by SDHPD, from vital public safety on air, sea and land to visceral community engagement.

Many Officers volunteer their time to connect with students at the Perkins School, where more than one-third of the students are homeless. The Foundation oversees powerful programs that include Read with a Cop, Shop with a Cop and Cruise with a Cop, all part of an acclaimed effort to uplift our community’s most vulnerable members.

Behind every finished video is a lot of planning, collaboration and time in the field.

Recently, the LOMA Media team spent the day at Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians and Harrah’s Resort SoCal capturing interviews, drone footage and b-roll for an upcoming video highlighting Rincon’s innovative microgrid project.

From the Rincon Fire Station and Government Center to key infrastructure sites across the reservation, it was a great opportunity to document a project focused on energy resiliency, sustainability and long-term community impact.

Here’s a quick look behind the scenes with our team and project partners as we bring this story to life.

She's one of the last "Rosie the Riveters," and still going strong at 104.

During WWII, Roberta “Randy” Tidmore helped build aircraft components before enlisting in the U.S. Marine Corps, where she served as a driver and transport specialist. Following her service, she built a career with United Airlines and became a dedicated advocate for veterans and military history. Her advocacy was on full display this week in support of Freedom Park at Burnham Navy Pier, soon to be the largest veterans park on the West Coast.

A shout out to Randy and every veteran who defends the universal values of freedom!

Last week provided some ‘smooth sailing’ for kids from the Perkins School, where some 30% of the student population is homeless.

The inaugural “Cruise-with-a-Cop” event sponsored by the San Diego Harbor Police Foundation gave many children their first opportunity to actually board a boat and experience San Diego Bay.

The highlight was a rendezvous with a pair of Harbor Police vessels that appeared with light flashing, sirens blaring and water blasting.

Having officially adopted the Grace Perkins K-8 School, the Foundation is working to upgrade the campus, provide financial aid and mentor students. All of us at LOMA are thrilled to support these ambitious efforts.

Special thanks to City Cruises and the cops, counselors and Foundation members who made this special day happen!
