79 performances in 65 communities across four states in three months is one heckuva summer tour!

LOMA is proud to support Montana State’s MSIP, “Montana Shakespeare in the Parks,” the nation’s most engaging (and well-traveled) free theater program. Now in its 53rd year, MSIP’s intrepid troupe of 11 performers (chosen in a nationwide casting competition of 400+ applicants) is drawn from one of the largest and oldest Shakespeare companies in the United States.

Last night’s performance in Red Lodge (hosted by LOMA’s Carmen DeBello) exemplified the wide range of non-profit organizations we support, from artistic endeavors to community organizations and youth programs.

Dodging an impending thunderstorm, the performance of “Henry V” went off without a hitch. All’s well that ends well!

The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians was the first tribe in California to have gaming. That opportunity has helped the Tribe generate well over $1 billion in total economic impact over the past 2 years alone, while supporting 4,000 jobs.

With the recent passing of beloved Tribal Chairman Bo Mazzetti, Rincon now enters a new era. Debuting last week, a LOMA-produced video relays the Tribe’s collective values and vision as it builds upon historic success.

June 21st was NATIVE AMERICAN HERITAGE DAY at the San Diego County Fair, a celebration of rich cultures and traditions through an array of performances, exhibitions and contests.

The County is home to 18 federally recognized Tribes, most in the nation. In addition to serving as advertising partner to the Fair, the LOMA team is proud to support MMIP San Diego, a tribal-led coalition dedicated to combating the Missing and Murdered Indigenous People crisis.

LOMA congratulates the Santa Monica College graduates of 2025! 🎓 It’s a privilege to serve as SMC’s production partner, sending the Commencement livestream broadcast around the world (which makes perfect sense with proud grads and families from dozens of nations.)

For the 35th year in a row, SMC yet again led the nation in transfers to University of California (UC) campuses. Onward! 👏

When UC San Diego Athletic Director Earl Edwards led the effort to elevate Triton scholar-athletes to Division I competition, LOMA was lucky enough to play a supporting role in helping achieve what has become an unprecedented success.

This week, after he guided both the men’s and women’s basketball programs to the NCAA Tournament in their initial year of eligibility (a March Madness first), the university appointed Earl as Athletics Director Emeritus. He’ll soon serve as Special Adviser to the Chancellor, remaining a familiar face to a campus community that has embraced major college athletics while staying true to its storied academic tradition.

For sheer vision and dogged determination, we’ve seen firsthand that Earl Edwards has no equal. With his new focus on fundraising and community engagement to meet “increasingly ambitious goals,” it’s safe to assume that Triton Athletics will remain ascendant.

Congratulations, Earl!

The California quail (Lophortyx californica), also known as the valley quail, became the state’s official bird in 1931. Who knew?

These folks.

Western Field Ornithologists promote the study, appreciation and protection of birds in western North America. Just in time for summer, we were lucky enough to help them tell their story to birders and aspiring birdwatchers everywhere.

Watch the video, and check out Nathan Pieplow’s “diabolical” sound quiz. (If you dare!) Fascinating pastime, important science, fun people.

Check out a SUMMER PET-TACULAR! LOMA is doggone thrilled to produce the bilingual TV and radio campaign for the 2025 San Diego County Fair, June 11 through July 6.

Gotta say...it's ReBARKable. 🐶

A year in the planning and truly a century in the making, Broadway star Melissa Errico’s amazing musical creation of ‘The Story of a Rose’ had its world premiere before an enthusiastic audience on May 7.

LOMA was onsite to capture all the magic onstage and behind the scenes for an upcoming national tour and related opportunities.

Presented by the Doughboy Foundation and sponsored by the Gary Sinise Foundation, ‘Rose’ is Melissa’s very personal tribute to her family’s immigrant experience and the nation’s participation in World War I, a remarkable era that launched The American Century.

Using her great aunt Rose as her avatar, and the Ziegfeld Follies that Rose starred in as a frame, Melissa makes the stage ring with the sounds of the Great American Songbook in a memorable reverie of history and hope.

Last Saturday, MMIP San Diego launched a countywide campaign to combat human trafficking and violence in our region’s Native American communities.

All across the United States, Indigenous people go missing or are murdered at alarming rates that far exceed the national average. Many of these cases remain unsolved; many more go unreported.

LOMA is producing this campaign in support of a coalition of four Kumeyaay tribes in association with the San Diego Harbor Police Foundation. The tribes are Jamul Indian Village of California, Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, San Pasqual Band of Mission Indians and Manzanita Band of the Kumeyaay Nation.

All of us at LOMA are proud to support this landmark Tribal effort to strengthen at-risk communities by confronting the crisis of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People (MMIP.)

This Sunday, the USS Midway Museum and the Vietnamese Heritage Museum will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Operation Frequent Wind—the heroic rescue of thousands of Vietnamese refugees during the fall of Saigon in 1975.
