Hey, this ‘liquid ice’ thing is pretty cool!

San Jose Sharks star Tyler Toffoli praises the varied uses of H2O in a new LOMA spot produced for California’s largest water supply district (Tyler provides the info, mascots H2Cool and Sharky deliver the impact).

Dear friends, here’s to a very merry Holiday Season!

In your name, we’ve donated to a dynamic non-profit that we’re honored to work with and support. Through its Daily Taps program, the Doughboy Foundation pays tribute to all who have served in the armed forces of the United States.

From all of us at LOMA, our best wishes to you and yours in the New Year!

Don’t mess with Rizzly the Grizzly.

When LOMA designed and executed a new mascot for Mt. San Antonio College, he came complete with a full slate of supporting brand assets.

Extending the foundational 2-dimensional artwork, we’ve elevated the vision into a dynamic 3D extension that combines good ol’ fashioned in-house imagination with state-of-the-art AI-driven visual effects.

Rizzly’s a fun guy–but check out his game face!

Last week, The New York Times asked “Is Gen X Actually the Greatest Generation?”

Respectfully, no.

More than 400,000 Americans sacrificed their lives in World War II, an existential conflict this nation entered 84 years ago today. The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was vividly recalled by survivor Stu Hedley in a 2015 video LOMA produced for San Diego’s USS Midway Museum commemorating the role of the nation, the region and the American people.

The Greatest Generation will never be in doubt.

On the ice with an intrepid trio for client Valley Water!

San Jose Sharks forward and alternative captain Tyler Toffoli is flanked by mascots H2Cool and Sharky for a series of upcoming spots extolling the safe, clean water provided to Santa Clara County residents by California’s largest water supply district.

Tyler’s already won one Stanley Cup, and the surprising NHL Sharks could be playoff bound come April. (Sharky will bring the noise, and H2Cool the ice.)

LOMA on location! 🎥

Last week, our production team was at the San Diego County Administration Center to capture the Tribal Nations Flag Raising Ceremony on behalf of our client, MMIP San Diego.
This year marked a historic first: the Tribal Nations flag, representing all 18 federally recognized Tribes in the county, will now fly permanently as a powerful symbol of visibility, respect and partnership.

District Attorney Summer Stephan joined community members and Tribal leaders in marking the occasion, joined by event co-sponsors Supervisors Monica Montgomery Steppe and Terra Lawson-Remer—further demonstrating the growing commitment to meaningful County–Tribal collaboration.

For MMIP San Diego, partnerships like this are foundational—strengthening awareness, education and coordination with law enforcement as we work together to address the MMIP crisis in our region.

Honored to help capture both the moment and the momentum!

He wrote on his draft card “Don’t want to fight.” But he did, and fought so well that he became an American legend.

However, it’s also what he did afterwards that makes Sgt. Alvin York the timeless epitome of the values we extol on Veterans Day.

With deepest respect for the 41 million Americans who have served in our nation’s armed forces, LOMA was honored to produce this video remembrance for the U.S. World War I Centennial Commission and Doughboy Foundation.

Trunk or treat!

The SD Harbor Police and its Foundation have a very special relationship with the kids at Perkins Elementary school, where nearly a third of the students are homeless.

On Halloween, officers visited the campus to hand out candy and school supplies, including 9 Samsung laptops for Perkins provided by the Foundation. Leftover candy was brought to the San Diego airport for HPD to give to kids who were traveling during Halloween and thus missed the chance to trick-or-treat. (Extra nice touch!)

All of us LOMA are proud to support the San Diego Harbor Police Foundation, a dynamic community organization that’s making a difference every day.

Party like it’s 1999!

That was the year Qualcomm made “3G” a thing—and its stock rose an incredible 2500%.

LOMA’s John DeBello produced a series of scenarios that showcased the everyday possibilities of Qualcomm’s game changing CDMA telecom technology, which made possible the smartphone features we take for granted today (GPS location, instant media) plus a few things we’re just getting used to (like AI-powered avatars).

And speaking of AI—this week, the company announced it was launching new artificial intelligence accelerator chips to rival the industry leader. More magic in the works?

Meanwhile, the LOMA team continues to communicate emerging (and amazing) technology solutions for industry leaders and startups alike. Quantum computing, anyone? Stay tuned!

A LOMA shout out to the opening of the newest “One Safe Place” in National City, CA.

This model has been implemented in multiple cities across the nation, with each location serving as a Family Justice Center that offers comprehensive services to survivors of abuse and trauma.

As outreach partner to MMIP San Diego, a Tribal-led coalition dedicated to combating the MMIP crisis, we were on hand to celebrate and record the occasion. One Safe Place South will be operated by the San Diego County District Attorney's Office, joining its northern counterpart in San Marcos with support from 25 agencies countywide to foster resiliency and strengthen families.

Jamul Chairwoman Erica Pinto, a leader of MMIP San Diego, spoke at the event. She expressed the hope of expanding One Safe Place to even more locations throughout the County, increasing access to critical support.

Happy Birthday to the United States Navy!

250 years ago today, a fledgling “Continental Navy” was established by the Continental Congress. But it was 4 decades later that America’s small Navy emerged as a global force by somehow defeating the world’s most formidable sea power.

A LOMA video narrated by Oscar winner Richard Dreyfuss commemorated the 200th anniversary of the War of 1812 for the Naval History and Heritage Command, in which the U.S. Navy played an altogether remarkable role.

All of us at LOMA honor the service, sacrifice, and legacy of the U.S. Navy since its founding on October 13, 1775!

LOMA was recently on location for the National Science Foundation, an independent federal agency that supports science and engineering in all 50 states and US territories.

During our long-term relationship, we’ve had the pleasure to engage directly with many agency leaders and partners, all focused on NSF’s mission to “advance the progress of science.”
