Road Rage With Kids in the Car — Family Asking for Info on Reckless Driver

On Monday, May 26th, 2025, around 11:20 AM, a road rage incident was reported on San Ysidro Boulevard near the I-5 North on-ramp in San Diego. A local mother was driving with her two sons, her dog, and a friend when a man in a separate vehicle began aggressively honking behind them while they were stopped at a red light. Once the light turned green, she continued driving at a normal pace, but the man kept honking, flipping her off, and trying to pressure her into speeding.

At the next light, just before the freeway entrance, the driver repeated his hostile behavior with more honking and rude gestures. When both vehicles entered the one-lane freeway on-ramp, the suspect attempted to pass but couldn’t. Once on the I-5, the man accelerated, cut in front of her car, and began brake-checking and blocking her from passing. Both he and his female passenger were seen yelling and flipping off the family.

Concerned for her safety and that of her children and dog, the woman remained calm and called police while her friend began recording the escalating incident. The suspect vehicle eventually exited at E Street.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact CHP’s non-emergency line at 1-800-TELL-CHP (1-800-835-5247) and reference the date and time of the report.
