If this is our first hello - sul sul, I’m Ravasheen or rav, rava, rvsn! Over 25 years ago, in the early 2000s on a computer shared by me and my three siblings; I fell in love with the little world I could create in The Sims. I would excitedly wait for my one hour turn mentally moving into Bella Goth’s house and envisioning where to put the Skydiving Simulator. This sparked a lifelong love for interior design and relentless pursuit of adding a little zhuzh on ~glitterally~ all things in life.
⠀
Somewhere between live mode and build/buy mode, I rationalized a practical career over my creative aspirations. I dug deep and flexed my left brain hard, earning a M.S. in electrical engineering and running fast towards what I thought success was.
⠀
Just finding my footing in adulthood and years away from those exciting early days of new technology, compact discs, and blow-up chairs, I found myself back at the computer and playing The Sims 4 as a creative outlet. I realized I could take all the technical, modular, puzzle-solving, systems-thinking parts of my engineering brain to create colorful, purposeful sparks of joy.
⠀
I found who I was with you all. You emboldened me to peek out and consider what life would look like if I shed my deeply held identity as an engineer and dared to be an artist. Today truly feels like I somehow maxed out my Creativity skill and unlocked a hidden career branch.
⠀
I am so grateful for the incredible, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to work with Electronic Arts to create my very own Creator Kit — Yard Charm. I can’t wait to share more with you in the coming days about all the subtle features in my Creator Kit, the inspiration behind it, and what the infinitely bright future holds!
⠀
It is radiant. It is sparkly. It is full of charm. ✨
