Spirit month is a tradition of both Taoism and Buddhism, that is celebrated in the seventh lunar month.
One of the main events of Hungry Ghost Month is the Hungry Ghost Festival. It is one of several traditional festivals to worship ancestors.

The Hungry Ghost Festival is celebrated on the 15th day of the seventh lunar month. This day is usually in July or August in Western calendar.
They perform special ceremonies to avoid the wrath of the ghosts, such as putting the family’s ancestral tablets on a table, burning incense, and preparing food three times that day. The main ceremony is typically held at dusk. People put the family’s ancestral tablets and old paintings and photographs on a table and then burn incense near them. Plates of food are put out for the ghosts on the table, and the people may kowtow in front of the memorial tablets and report their behavior to their ancestors to receive a blessing or punishment. People also feast on this night, and they might leave a place open at the table for a lost ancestor.

The spirits are offered various types of meat, dumplings, fruits and vegetables. Later in the evening, people eat the donation for dinner.
One of the origins of the Hungry Spirits Festival is the story of one of Buddha's disciples, Mulyan. He went to hell on a lunar day on July 15 to offer food to the spirits and ask for the release of his mother. His filial piety paid off, and she was released, leading to the tradition of burning incense and offering food during the Hungry Ghost Festival.

Trees exhale for us so that we can inhale them to stay alive. Can we ever forget that? Let us love trees with every breath we take until we perish.

Trees are a source of energy on many levels. Physically they help people and the planet by providing oxygen and shade. They can provide shelter and habitats for animals. Some trees also give their fruit and wood to help ensure our survival.

The energy of trees can also affect our mental, emotional and spiritual bodies of energy. Consider for example the peace and serenity people feel when they sit under a tree or walk through a forest. And what about the feelings of joy and excitement that children feel when climbing a tree or the magic of spending time in a treehouse?
Trees like all living things have an energy frequency or vibration and an aura. With roots reaching deep into the earth, they have excellent grounding energy. Their vibrations are slower, deeper and more concentrated compared to some other living things. Essentially they give out the energy vibe of safety, security and stability.

By coming into contact with a tree you will pick up these vibrations whether you are consciously aware of it or not. You begin to resonate with the tree’s energy and you become more centered and grounded.
Next time you pass by a tree, remember its spiritual power and all the wonderful gifts it gives to humanity and the planet. Share its healing energy and enjoy all its beauty!

Generally, we waste our lives, distracted from our true selves, in endless activity. Meditation is the way to bring us back to ourselves, where we can really experience and taste our full being.

Meditation is a technique used for thousands of years to develop awareness of the present moment.
It can involve practices to sharpen focus and attention, connect to the body and breath, develop acceptance of difficult emotions, and even alter consciousness. It’s been shown to offer a number of physical and psychological benefits like stress reductionTrusted Source and improved immunity.

While many spiritual traditions include meditation as a part of their teachings and practices, the technique itself doesn’t belong to any particular religion or faith. Though ancient in origin, it’s still practiced today in cultures all over the world to create a sense of peace, calm, and inner harmony.

Today’s busy schedules seem tailor-made for a buildup of stress. Meditation is a very grounded and effective way to relieve stress while also promoting self-awareness. Just as there are many different reasons why people meditate, there are many different kinds of meditation.

Mindfulness is the practice of noticing without judgment. Whether it is used as a gateway to higher spiritual growth or as a path to more balanced living, the applications of mindfulness are various…as are the ways to achieve it.

The dancing mindfulness practice is an expressive arts experience open to everyone regardless of previous experience with dance, yoga, music, meditation, or spiritual practice. Dancing Mindfulness is a channel for accessing mindful awareness that can be practiced individually or with a group, in the confines of a space like a yoga studio or treatment center, or in the daily arenas of your life.

Dancing Mindfulness uses the art form of dance as the primary medium of discovering mindful awareness. Dancing through seven primary areas of mindfulness in motion: breath, sound, body, story, mind, spirit, and fusion (of all elements), with a respect to the attitudes of mindfulness, participants tap into their body’s own healing resources and realize that we all have a unique creativity just waiting to be cultivated!

Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.

​​Gratitude is such a powerful emotion, one that can make your life better in so many ways. It’s quite difficult to feel depressed or sorry for yourself when you are feeling gratitude.

Gratitude is a thankful appreciation for what an individual receives, whether tangible or intangible. With gratitude, people acknowledge the goodness in their lives. In the process, people usually recognize that the source of that goodness lies at least partially outside themselves. As a result, being grateful also helps people connect to something larger than themselves as individuals — whether to other people, nature, or a higher power.

Gratitude helps people feel more positive emotions, relish good experiences, improve their health, deal with adversity, and build strong relationships.
People feel and express gratitude in multiple ways. They can apply it to the past (retrieving positive memories and being thankful for elements of childhood or past blessings), the present (not taking good fortune for granted as it comes), and the future (maintaining a hopeful and optimistic attitude). Regardless of the inherent or current level of someone's gratitude, it's a quality that individuals can successfully cultivate further.

There are lots of ways to practice gratitude! You can keep a gratitude journal and reflect on your own, you can call up a friend and let them know how much you appreciate them, or you can celebrate the people in your life with a small token of appreciation.
You really have nothing to lose when it comes to sharing and verbalizing the gratitude you have for your loved ones.

cl, poor growth. Rich soil, abundant growth. The more you choose to think thoughts that make you feel good, the quicker the affirmations work.

Affirmations can be really powerful, and they are also easy to use. When you begin to form thoughts and repeat similar things again and again, you start believing in the ideas. Many people use this in a negative way without even knowing it, but these affirmations can also be used for good.

For example, if you keep telling your mind emphatically – “I am confident” – repeatedly, you will get the message. From here, the wheels of the mind will be set into motion so that you definitely become more confident. This is a basic affirmation, and you can learn to make up your own set of custom affirmations that work for you.

The strength of words is amazing, and everything in our lives is described by them. If we can create our own narrative, and make sure that we are using our mind to be positive, we will be in a much better position.
Using a short, powerful and positive statement to influence our behaviors and habits is the basis of an affirmation. We can use these affirmations to create our thinking patterns, and repel negative thoughts.
