Years of dreaming and finally we made it to the southern tip of Baja California...sailing this time. We take you along with us as we navigate the energy of the Pacific Ocean through some of the best sailing conditions and the fastest sailing we have done so far all in the same 24 hours. The weather models aren't quite as accurate as we hoped they would be but we adjust our sails and keep taking what the ocean wants to give us, without even turning the motor on.

Sailboats have to be a little more strategic in how they enter unfamiliar bays. Running aground or the motor not be strong enough to overcome a strong current are some of the things we have to worry about.

We continue our journey around the baja peninsula and in this 96 mile leg there's NO wind, making us choose between sailing...or motoring (ugh!). A hard lesson that sometimes you motor more than you sail.

Settling into a simple sailing routine as we hopped from one anchorage to the next down the Pacific Coast of Baja. The lesson here was that we were learning to observe and listen to the ocean and adjust our sails and ourselves as sailors accordingly.

Not having a preventer on the boom to prevent it from slamming side to side in large swells is a rookie mistake. Today the Pacific Ocean decided to teach us this lesson.
