Delighted to announce Gaiaphilia - the brand new album from Japanese legends Yumiko Morioka and Takashi Kokubo.

You can stream the title track today on all platforms and pre-order the 12’’ LP that comes with beautiful artwork by Ventral is Golden. Full album out on March 12.

‘’Rooted in shared philosophical interests, Gaiaphilia reflects a profound reverence for nature’s resilience and harmony. Themes of Gaia, Mother Earth’s renewal, and the interconnectedness of life are central, with inspirations drawn from cosmology, sacred geometry, and Japan’s mystical Katakamuna tradition.’’

I could not be more thrilled to have had the opportunity to continue working with Yumiko Morioka, and this will be her first new music in decades. And it’s an honour to work with Takashi Kokubo, somebody whose music I have been a fan of for many years.

We’re thrilled to announce the return of label favourite .japan and to introduce his brand new alias - Tenka.

Tenka’s beautiful debut album Hydration will be released on September 14th and is available to pre-order today, including the gorgeous transparent ochre coloured vinyl. You can stream the first single ‘Nutrition’ today.

For this project Tenka collaborated with Berlin based scent designer .berlin to create a limited edition fragrance to pair with the album. Hydration the fragrance can be purchased directly from our Bandcamp. The 10ml essential oil comes with a free gatefold CD inc. a 12 page booklet describing the story behind the collaboration.

The transparent ochre coloured vinyl is also available to pre-order.



Please note that all orders of Hydration the fragrance will be shipped separately, and from a different location in the UK from the vinyl.

All US vinyl orders will be shipped from our new warehouse partner in the US to avoid any customs issues.

Over 30 years after it was originally released today we're thrilled to rebirth Synergetic Voice Orchestra's incredible album 'MIOS' back into the world.

Since connecting with Yumiko Morioka a few years ago, it has been such an honour to learn about her story and to share her work with everybody. She's just brilliant!

MIOS is available to buy now on vinyl, CD and digital. You can stream the full album over on our bandcamp page or with the evil overlords at Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal etc.

Thrilled and honoured to announce our latest release '之/OF' - a beautiful record by the multi talented artist Li Yilei.

Born in China, now based in London, Li began work on ‘之/OF’ in the UK, and finished the project in their nation of birth whilst visiting family during the first lockdown.

Each of the 12 tracks is a study in horology, using metaphorical sound transcriptions and atmospheric extractions to focus on the temporal relationship between experience and surroundings.

‘’I tried to portray each song as a short, scattered poem - a moment that I captured to represent each hour.’’

之 / OF is available from August 16 2021 in a limited pressing of 500 140gm vinyl in a natural translucent colourway.

In support of the release Li has made a limited number of handmade xun (a traditional Chinese vessel flute used as far back as 7000 years ago) - these can be purchased from Metron Records bandcamp page and will be shipped in custom wooden boxes, with information about the xun. It’s a testament to the many talents that Li has that these stunning ceramic creations can sit alongside such an engrossing album.

Super excited to announce a brand new reissue on the label, and so happy to continue to share the incredible work of Yumiko Morioka, this time, with MIOS an album by her Synergetic Voice Orchestra project - a collection of friends and street musicians from Tokyo originally released in 1990.

You can pre-order the limited edition translucent green vinyl, standard black vinyl edition and gatefold CD from today.

North American customers are welcome, and encouraged, to buy from us directly, however Light In The Attic will also be taking pre-orders today - including an exclusive translucent purple LP option.

When Florian first sent me these demos many, many months ago I was so excited to work on this release with him. This music has given me great calm over the past year or so, like a comfort blanket - and so I'm thrilled for everybody to be able to hear the wonderful 'Music For Parents' in full over at our Bandcamp (Link below).

Florian created this music with his own parents in mind and hoped it would be a gift to them both. Today was the perfect day to release the album as it's also his mother's birthday.

You can download the digital today, pre-ordered CDs should start shipping within a week or two and the LP will be shipping in the coming months (manufacturing times are much longer than usual currently).
