This is a piece of my story—one that carries love, unexpected turns, sacrifice, and deep gratitude.
From being an international student to raising my son in the U.S., from traveling the world to building a life and career here... I’ve lived many chapters. I never imagined a 3-month visit would turn into a life. But life had other plans—and I followed them with my heart wide open.
I’m sharing this not for sympathy or politics, but for perspective. Many of us go through so much just to stay, survive, and belong. And what’s happening now to immigrants in this country is heartbreaking.
I was lucky. But so many are being treated like criminals just for dreaming of the same safety and stability. We can do better. We must lead with compassion.
