Hate has no place in our communities. Sharing this to raise awareness about the reality of what we faced tonight. No one should be targeted like this. Have you ever had to deal with something similar?
Yesterday, after my friend and I finished eating, we were walking out of the restaurant when a stranger who appeared to be getting out of his car started screaming at me, “Bitch, what are you doing here, Negro?”
I did not say anything to him. My friend did not respond either. We just kept walking faster. Then we saw him throw a large stone at us. We bent our heads down and ran as fast as we could to my car.
After we got inside, the man got back into his car and followed us. He threw the stone again, this time hitting the passenger-side window, and then drove away. We heard a very loud impact. Honestly, I thought my car window was broken.
Thank God my friend and I are okay. 🙏🏾 I went out to enjoy a beautiful evening and ended up running for safety and leaving in tears because a stranger attacked me while yelling racist words at me.
And one thing I learned yesterday… Mercedes really built a strong car 😭 because with that noise, I was sure my window was gone.
