The Weekend Roundup!

East County’s Jewish Women’s Circle announces its “Torah and Tea: The Three Weeks, The Ache of Exile, the Hope of Redemption” at noon, Thursday, July 9. This women’s event led by Rebbetzin Chaya Andrusier includes Torah study, lunch, and connection.

June Rubin’s Fine Art announces its “Summer 2026 Fine Art Classes” starting at 3:30 p.m., for ages 5-8, and 4:30 p.m., for ages 9-12, on Thursdays beginning June 25 through July 30 at the Tierrasanta Recreation Center. These sessions include step-by-step lessons on painting animals and still lifes with acrylics and watercolors, creating collages, and painting landscapes.

Beth Jacob Congregation announces its “Summer Kickoff for Everyone” at 4 p.m., Thursday, July 9. This event includes food for purchase from Moishes Grill, Moon Bounce games, and many more.

Drew Bradford’s Sheldon J. Plankton was my favorite. His voice was a good match for the character’s, and it seemed like he had fun being the maniacal villain. His voice also changed depending on what he was singing. The rap section sounded closer to his speaking voice but was impressive nonetheless. Also, Plankton doing an Eminem-like rap is wild.
