Blue Barn Creative is a partnership co-founded by three video producers who create content for a range of clients across many industries. Blue Barn Creative was founded by three veterans of the TV industry who met on set and quickly bonded over a shared obsession for quality storytelling. Stephen Alberts came from the East Coast after working as a video editor for the NYC beauty brand Bumble and B

umble. Carlos Foster grew up in Northern California and pursued directorial roles straight out of film school. Vic Alavi ran a successful film photography studio in London before relocating to sunny San Diego. We had mixed roles on set as producers, directors, camera operators, motion designers, and video editors, but we instantly saw the value of creative collaboration. Cable TV management pushed back on our elevated concepts, so we set out to create something of our own. We founded Blue Barn in 2010 and have never looked back. Over the years, our team has built lasting partnerships with some of the world’s biggest brands. Regardless of size, it’s always the story that matters most. Awards and accolades are a reassuring marker of quality, but we find the greatest joy in helping our clients move the needle and grow with authentic, honest stories.

Happy holidays from the Blue Barn family! We wrapped 2025 in good company with laughter, drinks, and of course, plenty of pizza. It was bittersweet celebrating the close of the year without our co-founder and friend, Vic. But his presence was with us, and at times we could almost hear his distinct laugh joining in our chorus (Vic did like a good party).

We are so proud and thankful for our team that continues to grow. And ever appreciative of our clients who put their trust in us year over year.

2026 will mark our 14th year in business. We aim to carry on doing what we do best, working with the most creative and kind people you will ever meet, and making great videos for clients across every industry.

Here’s to continued success, doing something you love, and (as inspired by our late partner) finding a bit of joy in every day.

Our team kicked off a new partnership with The team is based in Canada, but we helped produce an onsite presentation with the company CEO at a gorgeous property right here in San Diego.

Of course, being locals didn’t stop us from asking if we could stay a night… or two.

For the shoot, we sent a small three-person team to light, film, and provide hair and makeup services. LUXUS is an established player in the luxury vacation industry and wanted their CEO’s message to match the quality of the product (and experience) they provide. We were happy to help!

Maybe next time on the comped overnight stay, LUXUS? 😉

Blue Barn headed across the border for our first production day with Medical Device Components. As part of our multi-facility spanning brand project with the company, we kicked things off at their factory in Mexicali.

It was a “mild” 105 degrees, but we didn’t let the heat stop us from getting creative with some fancy drone work in the blazing sun.

One of the advantages of being a bilingual production company is that we can take on projects like this, even when the client themselves have limited ability in either language. AND especially when the border guards start asking questions about the equipment in the back of the SUV 😬 (activate your global entry cards, folks!)

Nine years ago today, our team took home Emmy gold for our national commercial spot with Swiss Army. Blue Barn had officially launched a few years prior, but this was the shot in the arm, and validation, we needed to keep pushing our company forward.

The project was the largest we had ever taken on at that point, and forced us to quickly level up our production process, and bring in some new talent—who we still work with to this day.

Of course, watching the spot debut live on Monday Night Football is one of our proudest memories. True to our partner Vic’s form, he had somehow convinced the client to gift us three individual watches featured in the commercial. If you ever catch our producer, Carlos, on set, he’s usually still wearing his.

“INOX Forged to Resist” was a pivotal moment in Blue Barn’s history; it felt like the possibilities for our little company were truly just beginning. Thank you to everyone who played a role in making it happen, and to VSA for taking a chance on a small team from San Diego!
