Blue Barn Creative is a partnership co-founded by three video producers who create content for a range of clients across many industries. Blue Barn Creative was founded by three veterans of the TV industry who met on set and quickly bonded over a shared obsession for quality storytelling. Stephen Alberts came from the East Coast after working as a video editor for the NYC beauty brand Bumble and Bumble. Carlos Foster grew up in Northern California and pursued directorial roles straight out of film school. Vic Alavi ran a successful film photography studio in London before relocating to sunny San Diego. We had mixed roles on set as producers, directors, camera operators, motion designers, and video editors, but we instantly saw the value of creative collaboration. Cable TV management pushed back on our elevated concepts, so we set out to create something of our own. We founded Blue Barn in 2010 and have never looked back. Over the years, our team has built lasting partnerships with some of the world’s biggest brands. Regardless of size, it’s always the story that matters most. Awards and accolades are a reassuring marker of quality, but we find the greatest joy in helping our clients move the needle and grow with authentic, honest stories.

Our team was called in to produce the brand content for Dr. Roebuck’s US product launch. The Australian brand had cultivated a dedicated national following (and amongst those in the know willing to pay import fees) so it would be the first time US consumers would meet the twin sisters leading the company, and hear the story of how their family grew the name into a national beauty brand.

For this project, we traveled to Los Angeles to film the brand film interviews, and a series of consumer-facing product knowledge videos.

Prepping the stage for a presenter-style shoot. Our team has partnered with this particular client on a monthly basis to produce their YouTube series. The partnership is over a year strong now, and we appreciate the opportunity that a continued collaboration allows in refining creative choices over time, and gradually improving the product we produce.

An added bonus for both parties is that the editing time gets shorter too, as we know exactly what the client wants, and their personal preferences.

We’re often brought in when a brand is ready to elevate their look and media content. In the case of the team called us in when the brand was about to launch in stores. Elaluz began on Instagram but now they needed professional videos that told the founder’s story, and polished content to promote their product line.

It was a comprehensive media plan that would build their brand presence over the course of a year. We continued to work with the team to expand their product knowledge video library and promotional content.
