LOST & FOUND FENTANYL AWARENESS FRIDAY

One Choice Can Save a Life

Fentanyl can be present in counterfeit pills and other street drugs without a person knowing it. Addiction is not a moral failure, and an overdose is not a time for judgment—it is a medical emergency. Preparation, compassion, and quick action save lives.

Three Safety Steps

1. Carry naloxone and learn how to use it. Naloxone can reverse an opioid overdose, including one involving fentanyl. California Department of Public Health
2. Know the warning signs. Watch for someone who cannot wake up, has slow or stopped breathing, makes choking or gurgling sounds, or has discolored lips or nails.
3. Act immediately. Give naloxone if available, call 911, place the person on their side, and stay until help arrives. If you are unsure, treat it as an overdose. CDC overdose-response guidance

Reflection question:
Are you prepared to recognize an overdose and help save someone’s life?

Every person has value. Every family deserves hope. Recovery is possible, and compassion can be the first step toward healing.

Lost & Found Junior Outreach is a youth mentorship and prevention program where we share our real-life experiences to educate and encourage teens. We teach gang and drug awareness, trauma education, healthy coping skills, positive decision-making, and the importance of understanding their identity and purpose.

Our goal is not only to help young people avoid dangerous choices but also to train them to become Junior Outreach Specialists—positive leaders who can use their experiences, knowledge, and voices to reach, encourage, and educate other youth.

We believe that when young people are equipped, supported, and given purpose, they can help change their families, schools, and communities.

Learn. Heal. Lead. Reach Others.

🖤💛 HARM REDUCTION TUESDAY — LOST & FOUND STYLE 💛🖤

Harm reduction does not mean we approve of drug use. It means we love people enough to keep them alive while they find their way into recovery.

We can’t help somebody tomorrow if they don’t survive today.

✅ Carry naloxone and learn how to use it.
✅ Never use alone.
✅ Test substances for fentanyl when test strips are available.
✅ Avoid mixing opioids with alcohol or other depressants.
✅ Remember: tolerance drops after detox, jail, hospitalization, or time without using.
✅ If someone won’t wake up or isn’t breathing normally, call 911, give naloxone, and stay until help arrives.

At Lost & Found Outreach, we meet people where they are—but we don’t leave them there.

No judgment. No shame. Just truth, resources, accountability, treatment, recovery, and hope.

You are not disposable.
Your story is not over.
You are still worth finding.
