Being a superhero is no walk in the park. Surfing 10 foot waves, jumping out of planes, beating 240 lb misogynistic as****es senseless, climbing mountains over 20k feet, raiding Taliban villages by helicopter at night, dropping into terrifyingly steep mountain bike trails, neautralizing violent methheads, and picking up clothes from the floor - can be brutal on anyones body, even Yoga Boy's. A life of risk comes with injury, and Yoga Boy's Injuries requires him to live in a constant state of warm up and rehabilitation. When Yoga Boys' body is warmed up it has more strength and less pain. More strength and less pain means more adrenaline, more adventure, more joy, and more LOVE - for nature, himself, and his loved ones. Yoga is strength, Yoga is happiness, Yoga is love.

Making music with guys like Chase is a DREAM COME TRUE. We build the sound around the emotion and the story. As a performer, I have to feel every line that comes out of my mouth, and I like the music to match or amplify or maybe contradict what I’m feeling, whatever it is, it’s intentional Since I’ve been a Filmaker for 10 years and I’m new to music, I approach it differently. I start within an emotion and a story, spend a stupid amount of time writing the lyrics, which is basically the script to the movie that will eventually be the music video (and your entry into the world) then I work with world class talented producers like Chase Jackson to score the script, I rehearse and practice the song hundreds of times for my friends to make sure the story is understood and the comedy lands where it’s supposed to, then we refine the final sound, then shoot the music video, then build Marketing around it so that you want to join the world at my live show. ? ? ? ! yes, that

Every superhero has an oigin story, Yoga Boy is no different. Yoga Boy was born out of pain, yearning, anger, grit, adventure, and warrior spirit. His desire for the warriors ultimate adventure led to the destruction of his body. Alas, everything has a price. Almost crushed by the weight of his decisions (and pack) he gave all his power to a new decision - to HEAL HIS BODY. After reading 's book, "The TB 12 Method" he realized that the key to healing was an anti-inflammatory diet, 8 hours of sleep, and YOGA. He dedicated himself to a daily yoga practice with no classes, no formal instruction, and no one checking his postures. All he had was YouTube and the mind of champion - a yoga champion.

We have three tech House remixes of Yoga boy coming out in the next month, we are releasing Muscle Mami Magic October 1, and when I release the clips from the live show, you’ll realize that you can’t miss the next one cause I have a unique show full of laughter, dance, and connection that literally no performer does. Yoga Boy is a satire of 90s west coast gangster rap, but is also my authentic truth.

It was made as an aggressive response to my parents after they made fun of me for doing yoga and called me “yoga boy.” Their bodies have been aging rapidly, and they had the nerve to make fun of me for doing yoga.

This was especially enraging because a year ago I set the goal to help my parents embrace an anti-inflammatory diet combined with a daily yoga practice that helps them stay strong, balanced, and flexible - so that they could have another 10 years with healthy bodies. I had a vision of our family swimming and kayaking in oceans and lakes, hiking and skiing in the mountains, and biking everywhere - and I’ve been coaching them weekly to make that vision reality.

So you can imagine my anger when they threw the yoga and healthy eating in my face, as if I was teaching them yoga for MY sake!

I channeled the anger into this song, which every word of which is my truth.

Rap lyrics are often flexing about money, girls, guns, and bravado, my lyrics flex MY truth. I built and sold a company, I’m addicted to yoga, I eat healthy AF, I stretch in public everywhere I go, I healed my body after destroying it in the military, and I left the world of entrepreneurship, military, and film making to reinvent myself as a musician and performing artist.

I had the balls to leave it all to become exactly what I wanted, and that’s my biggest flex.

I also made an “enemy” out of the guy that my parents wished I was. Which is satirical because my truth is that I’ll be that guy one day. Hopefully soon after I’m profitable!

The song was originally produced by my homie and then finished out in the studio by the legendary !

The music video was a shared vision with my co-creator, co-producer, co-director, and one of my best friends who is also one of the most talented artists I’ve ever met. All of our amazing dancers, actors, and teammates will be tagged in the post. Thank you SO much for bringing this vision to life. I’m honored to create with you. Truly.

Friday at 730 on the grass in Mission Beach, I’m gonna perform four songs, Yoga Boy will be officially released into the Wild, and by 750 we’re gonna dance to Nora En Pure on the boardwalk until 10! Be prepared to laugh, dance and even do a little bit of headbanging just to get the energy up. See you tomorrow my peoplez!
