One breakthrough show sparked a movement. After an overwhelming response to our first event, we knew San Diego was ready for something new—and so was SGM. Our follow-up Black Sheep show at Aubergine let us officially stamp the SGM logo as a fresh force in the city’s music scene.

Friends traveled from LA, and we united legendary talent: DJ Spider (now a global name), Mr. Brady, Johaz, Arthur Djartistic Mitchell, Deep Rooted, and the whole Sleeping Giant crew. It was more than music—it was community.

Our compilation, ‘The Awakening,’ set the tone for this era and launched Sleeping Giant Music’s story in San Diego. That night, we connected artists, fans, and tastemakers, making SGM not just a name, but a movement.
