"I can't begin to explain the amount of pride and happiness I have in Szerds. It has been an absolute pleasure to work and grow this company to its place today. The experience has been an adventure. The ups, the downs and everything in between. Today is a great day and I didn't do it alone.

Today starts a new journey, as many of you have seen I recently became the Director of Content Strategy at Knucklehead Media Group and now, officially, SZERDS and Knucklehead Media Group have completed our merger.

I look forward to continuing the legacy of excellent customer service, content strategy and production at while at Knucklehead.

Knucklehead Media Group and SZERDS (Szerletich Design Solutions) finalized their merger July 1st, putting top executives in position to move ahead with plans they believe will transform the new company's podcast production and content creation brands into a reinvented digital media powerhouse.

We are beyond proud to have produced and managed this broadcast for our good friends at 23rd Veteran.

COVID-19 had forced the cancellation of yet another fundraising event for 23rd Veteran and Grandma's Marathon - Duluth, Inc. This time, their marathon race.

Knucklehead and everyone involved was able to adapt and overcome, bringing the marathon fundraiser to the virtual world in a near 6 hour broadcast touching people all around the world with the movement.

• 427 participants ran a marathon with us
• $13,850 were raised for 23rd Veteran's assistance programs
• The broadcast was engaged with over 4,065 times
• Participants were located in 38 different countries and 44 different states!

This event was a huge success and even more proof that virtual events can be and will continue to be a major game changer for organizations post social distancing.

A big shout out to Mic Drop Entertainment, Suit Soldier, Eagle Up Ultra, Nearly Naked Ruck March, Grandma's Marathon - Duluth, Inc., Sports 4 Health, CureSearch and the Gary Bjorklund Half Marathon for being amazing race partners.

Juneteenth is the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the ending of slavery in the United States. Dating back to 1865, it was on June 19th that the Union soldiers, led by Major General Gordon Granger, landed at Galveston, Texas with news that the war had ended and that the enslaved were now free.

Note that this was two and a half years after President Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation - which had become official January 1, 1863. The Emancipation Proclamation had little impact on the Texans due to the minimal number of Union troops to enforce the new Executive Order. However, with the surrender of General Lee in April of 1865, and the arrival of General Granger’s regiment, the forces were finally strong enough to influence and overcome the resistance.

Knucklehead Media Group, Knucklehead Podcast and Szerds would like to encourage you to learn more about Juneteenth. On January 1, 1980, Juneteenth became an official Texas state holiday through the efforts of Al Edwards, an African American state legislator. The successful passage of this bill marked Juneteenth as the first emancipation celebration granted official state recognition.
