WEEK 3 WEGOVY CHECK-IN — 233.4 LBS

Week three on Wegovy, and this morning I weighed in at 233.4 pounds.

Last week I was 233.2, so… basically a maintenance week. And I’m completely okay with that.

As far as the medication itself, not much has changed. I’m still noticing that fatigue about 24 hours after I take the shot, but outside of that, I really haven’t experienced any major side effects so far.

One thing I did focus on last week was increasing my water intake. I definitely drank more, but I wasn’t actually tracking how much I was drinking. So this week, I want to put a number to it and actually keep track.

I also want to get more consistent with tracking my macros: not just calories, but paying attention to what I’m actually eating and making sure I’m getting enough protein and being intentional with my nutrition.

The scale basically stayed the same this week, and that’s part of the process. I said from the beginning that I wanted to document this honestly, and that means showing the maintenance weeks too.

So: 233.4 pounds. Week three. Still learning, still adjusting, and still doing the work.

We’ll see what Week 4 brings.

you’re still trying to figure out what Billet Based Advancement means for you, how the process works, or what all these changes mean for your career — this is your opportunity to hear it directly from the policy team.

OPNAV N132’s BBA Policy Team will be at Naval Base Guam September 1st for a BBA Roadshow with sessions for Admin/CCCs, All Hands, and TRIADs.

I’ve said it before: BBA represents a pretty significant shift in how we think about advancement and billet alignment. And with changes continuing to roll out, getting the information from the people actually responsible for the policy is hard to beat.

📅 September 1st
⏰ Sessions begin at 0800

If you’re on Guam, take advantage of this. And CCCs — get the word out to your Sailors.

The right Sailor. The right billet. The right time.

Day 242 complete.
242 burpees done.

Reset Sunday.

Right as I was starting my burpees, Derek Stubbs (the first Chief I ever sponsored) called me.

He quickly realized what he had walked into and was gracious enough to stay on the phone while I worked through sets of 11.

It probably made the workout a little slower, and there won’t be rep captions today because I wasn’t counting out loud for the camera, but honestly, none of that mattered.

I got to catch up with someone I’m incredibly proud of, offer guidance where I could, and have a pretty great distraction from thinking about how much sets of 11 were starting to suck. 😂

I’m grateful that the relationship didn’t end when the season did.

Sometimes the best part of the journey is the people you’re still able to walk alongside long after the original moment has passed. 💪⚓

Day 241 complete.
241 burpees done.

Slow Grind Saturday.

I went into today expecting this to be one of the slower workouts of the week.

Sets of seven, EMOM, with an extended break after every five sets.

Nothing rushed. Nothing frantic.

And somehow, I ended up with one of my best times of the week.

Sometimes going slower in the moment helps you move faster overall.

Recovery isn’t wasted time when it helps you perform better. 💪⚓

The audio is a joke. 😂

But seeing something I started as a way to hold myself accountable become recognizable enough that Google can explain who I am?

Yeah… that part is pretty damn cool.

Cadence Run Pace. ⚓️🏃‍♂️

No race. No PR. Just a chance to get out there, find a rhythm, and put some miles in with THE CHIEF.

2.4 miles at an 11:51 pace. Nothing flashy—but that’s kind of the point. Not every run needs to leave you smoked. Sometimes you just settle into a cadence, keep moving, and enjoy the miles.

And getting to do it in San Diego surrounded by Chiefs and Chief Selects? Even better.

Keep showing up. Keep stacking miles. Keep moving forward.

Day 240 complete.
240 burpees done.

Field Day Friday.

Tonight’s burpees happened during another TikTok Live, and honestly, that continues to be one of the most enjoyable ways to get them done.

Talking with people, answering questions, and just hanging out makes the reps feel a lot less repetitive.

It’s also late, and I didn’t feel like turning this into a full production tonight.

So no voiceover. No captions. No complicated edit.

Just 240 burpees, another good conversation, and another day added to the streak.

Sometimes “good enough” really is enough. 💪⚓

“So if an E6 applies for the same billet I want to A2P into…they automatically get picked over me?”

I keep seeing this concern from Sailors, and yes—the Sailor Scoring Criteria in the BBA DGM specifically addresses this situation.

Under normal circumstances, rating detailers are directed to select a Sailor applying for an in-paygrade assignment over an A2P applicant based on seniority and no FMS score.

But that doesn’t necessarily mean the conversation ends there.

Commands can advocate for Sailors they believe are a better fit, and selections that don’t follow the highest weighted Sailor Scoring Criteria can potentially occur with the appropriate approval.

The biggest takeaway: understand how you’re being scored before you apply. Read the Sailor Scoring Criteria, talk with your detailer, and involve your chain of command when appropriate.

The system makes a lot more sense when we understand the rules it’s operating under.

Day 239 complete.
239 burpees done.

No Throwback Thursday tonight. After the way the last couple of days went, I wanted to talk about this workout instead.

I deliberately kept the sets manageable, used an EMOM for most of it, and took a few extended breaks when I needed them. It was controlled, never rushed, and for the first time in a few days…I actually felt good throughout.

But the biggest adjustment wasn’t the burpees.

I did a much better job today with my overall calorie intake, protein, and hydration, and tonight’s workout showed me just how much that matters.

I wasn’t overexerted, but I definitely wasn’t wasting my time either.

Sometimes the answer isn’t to train harder. It’s to prepare better. 💪⚓
