Update time: Feb 18th I started having a ton of chest pain and my left arm was numb. I had shortness of breath and felt like I was going to pass out. My Apple Watch had me from 40 BMP to 197 BMP. We decided to go to the emergency room. Found out that I had a heart attack. My pacemaker I already had in place was dead so it was no help in protecting me. I had no clue. I spent 14 total days in the emergency department at UCI hospital in Southern California. I was tested, poked, prodded, CT Scans, X Rays, and even Cardiac MRI. They did blood work every day. They studied me and my rhythms the whole time. I couldn’t sleep with the pain and fainting. I was a train wreck. The night before the surgery, I thought I was going to die. I felt it. I knew it. I spoke to my wife about it and we went over the plan if that happened. We cried for hours. I remember being so scared. I was in tears and trembling so hard I couldn’t sleep. I woke up squinting and remember seeing a bright man. Standing to the side of my bed. My wife in my arms sleeping on my chest. He didn’t speak. He just raised his hand and slowly lowered it down as to say calm. I closed my eyes and slept deeply. I was at peace. I felt love, peace, tranquility. I woke up and told my wife about it and told her everything is going to be ok. We cried together and we knew I would be fine. Finally, after 14 days… they got the specialist team together (had to fly in two of them) to operate and save me. Medtronic decided I needed a more advanced larger pacer than before. We discovered that the immense pain I was in was due to the old pacer being overbuilt in scar tissue and they were worried about the leads (upper and lower chamber leads) in the heart would not operate and might cause a hole in the muscle tissue inside the heart when replacing. Luckily for me, during surgery they were able to cut out the old unit and damaged muscles and scar tissue, and add the new machine in a different location deeper inside my massive pectoral muscles lol. Surgery was a Success, god was with me, your thoughts and prayers were with us and I cannot thank my beautiful, amazing wife for never leaving my side and supporting me through this madness and such a scary time. I cannot thank my sister Rachel for driving out here from Arizona to help support me and my family during this time. She was with me, and helped take care of the kids so Mayra could be with me every night. THANK YOU ALL. God is real and he loves us. True happiness lies in those who love you and those you love. It’s not parties and money and things. Trust me. Life is so fragile and you can lose it anytime out of nowhere. Say I love you. Give hugs, support others, make that phone call. Send that text. It matters. You never know if it’s the last. Thank you all who reached out personally. I love you all. I will never forget the love you showed me and my family. I’m still ticking. Home now on the road to recovery. A newer, better version of myself. LOS BLOOM ARE BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!!
