The San Diego Press Club will present “Bridging Divides and Staying Sane: Strategies for Fruitful Political Interactions & Maintaining Equilibrium,” an in-person panel discussion from 7-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 at San Diego City College.

In this time of shifting media landscapes, journalists need strategies to communicate effectively with all sides of the political divide and stay sane. This live panel discussion will address how to maintain balance in this challenging time.
Panelists will include:
* Dr. Gina Simmons Schneider, a licensed psychotherapist, executive coach, corporate trainer, and author of the award-winning book Frazzlebrain. She is also a coping skills expert with over 25 years of experience helping people manage emotions and conflicts. Dr. Schneider blogs for Psychology Today and writes the award-winning Manage Anger Daily blog. She has also blogged for Forbes and Women in Crime Ink, which the Wall Street Journal named a “blog worth reading.”
* Brady Young, an Alliance Co-Chair and Lead Event Organizer for Braver Angels, a nonprofit focused on depolarizing American politics. Along with Co-Chair Kelly Simmons, Brady facilitates discussions and events in San Diego to foster understanding across political divides. He also organizes online workshops and debates, engaging participants nationwide in conversations about key political issues. Brady works in Academic Affairs and Curriculum Development at the Franciscan School of Theology at the University of San Diego.
* Albert H. Fulcher, a longtime managing editor, editor, freelance writer and photographer. Fulcher has dedicated over 10 years of service to the San Diego Press Club as a board member and past president.
The panel is part of the Press Club’s longstanding “Nuts & Bolts” educational series, which is part of the Press Club’s professional development program.
