Hornet nest at dad’s front porch since early spring. They don’t bother us, we don’t bother them. More than 1 feet tall, and very close to 2 feet length. I guess that metal roof is better than trees.

Aug 27-28 Point Pleasant, WVirginia, at the confluence of the Ohio and Kanawha River. We spend a day touring the small state park and downtown. Mike wanted to visit the Mothman Museum. Our Airbnb is very Mothman theme, even have the Mothman Prophecies movie DVD to watch.

July 14-18: Napa Valley. It was nice to visit old and new to us winery. Of course we couldn't leave without buying a few bottles. While we try to take more pictures, we didn’t do as well as we thought we were.

1. Chateau Montelena. I wanted to visit this place after watching the Bottleshock movie (2008). It is a beautiful site, north of Calistoga. It has a beautiful garden. Our host, when look at an angle, looks like Bill Murray. Too bad we didn’t have a picture as proof. We have to try the famous Chardonnay, that makes Napa famous, and yes we did purchase them.

2. Reverie II Winery. This is a boutique winery between St Helena and Calistoga and sits on the hillside. You can see the Silverado Trail and Route 29 across the valley. The scenery of the valley is simply breathtaking. Their specialty is Red and Bordeaux style blend. We went in with low expectations and their wine is pretty good.

3. Kerr Cellars. The tasting room is in downtown Napa, which we sneak in just before closing time. We have fun tasting. Mike of course couldn’t resist showing the name association.

4. Davis Estate south of Calistoga. The wine cave tour is really fancy. I can tell they really put in a lot of thought in the design and the decor to make us go ‘Wow” and feeling comfortable. The food pairing is exquisite and goes well with the wine. I only wish that it had been a cooler day to visit, as the wine got warm pretty quickly and not as fun to drink on its own.

5. St. Supery Estate Vineyards & Winery. Our last stop, just because. We have been members for a long time and to visit for old time sakes.

We stay in Silverado Resort and Spa, just behind their North golf course. Mike managed to play golf on Friday morning at 6.30am (that is too early for me).
