Collector, grower & propagator of unique plants
๐Ÿ’— If itโ€™s pink, I probably need it Hi, I'm Mara!

For years, my plants had two modes: barely surviving or fully deadโ€”unless they thrived on pure neglect. Then one day I asked my brother how to make my potted moringa tree grow more leaves, and he told me to 'just water it'โ€”somehow that simple advice unlocked something. Suddenly my plants weren't just alive, they were thrivingโ€”and I was hooked. Now my collection has spiraled (in the best way) into trailing pothos, variegated hoyas, pink succulents, pastel anthuriums, and anything that's forgiving enough to tolerate my experiments. I'm navigating the dry, sunny Southern California climate, learning to propagate, trying my hand at kokedama, and definitely buying more plants than I have space for. Trial & Flora is where I share the beautiful moments, the learning curves, and the occasional "oops, I forgot to water my plant" disasters. If you're here for plant eye candy, beginner wins, and a lot of trial & error, welcome to the journey.๐ŸŒฟโœจ

Donโ€™t worry, the Hoyas are safe. The box, however, has already been claimed.

The first two didnโ€™t make it, but I just couldnโ€™t give up on this one. Some Hoyas are worth trying again.

Iโ€™m hoping this one keeps thriving because the silver form is already on the way. ๐Ÿ˜… Wish me luck!

Have you ever bought the same plant more than once because you just had to have it?

I got this as a two-leaf starter last year. Not long after, I discovered she had flat mites (who knows from where ๐Ÿ™ƒ). I treated her with sulphur and other insecticides, gave her the best fertilizer, and stillโ€ฆ nada! So I gave up stressing and just ignored her.

Then, this April, she finally started pushing out new leaves. Now it even looks like sheโ€™s branching out. ๐Ÿฅน

A little reminder that you canโ€™t rush nature. Sometimes all it needs is time. ๐Ÿ’š
