New Fire with Evacuations June 19, 2025

The fire is at the base of an avocado grove and working its way east. Response upgraded to a 2nd alarm.

Evacuation Warnings have been issued for Zones SDC-1688, SDC-1689, SDC-1777, & SDC-1778, per Genasys. For the zones' parameters, see the Watch Duty Map or Genasys Protect.

There is a Temporary Evacuation Point at 13487 Camino Canada at the Walmart.

Note: This fire is known as the "Hawick Fire."

Evacuation Order For Del Mar Fire

6/25/2024 VEGETATION FIRE Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve Extension San Diego North County. [watchduty]

3:10pm Structures immediately threatened on the fire's right shoulder, per air attack. Fire is 15 to 20 acres making a run toward the ridge. Potential of 50 acres.

3:00pm 1 additional type 3 strike team (5 engines) requested, per incident command.

2:40pm Fire is now 15 to 20 acres in medium to heavy fuels with a rapid rate of spread, per copter overhead. Potential for 100 acres.

2:35pm Fire has flared up again and is 5 to 7 acres in moderate to heavy fuels with a rapid rate of spread. Structure protection being put in place in the 13000 block of Mira Montana Drive. 1 type 3 strike team (5 engines), 2 type 1 strike teams (10 engines), 2 type 1 helitankers, and fixed-wing from Cal Fire requested.

12:20pm Forward progress stopped, per incident command. Copter 3 released. Both hand crews canceled.

12:00pm Multiple spot fires are burning outside the line in heavy vegetation. Copter 3 back dropping over the fire. 1 hand crew requested.

11:03am Forward progress stopped at 1 to 2 acres, per incident command. Arson investigators requested.

10:55am 1 acre vegetation fire in medium to heavy fuels with a moderate rate of spread. No structure threatened.

CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire is on-scene of a residential structure fire that has extended into the vegetation in Boreggo Springs. The vegetation fire is currently one acre with structures threatened. Battalion 3311 has requested a medium air attack.

5/15/24, Cleveland National Forest fuel crews on the Palomar Ranger District are conducting a 61-acre broadcast burn off Palomar Divide Road. Residents and visitors may see smoke from the 76, and surrounding communities. We ask the public not to call 911 if smoke and flames are seen in these areas. Please DO NOT REPORT. Palomar Divide and High Point Roads will be closed during this time.

This project funding in part by the President's Inflation Reduction Act which is a part of confronting the wildfire crisis.

Prescribed Fire is part of Confronting the Wildfire Crisis: https://fs.usda.gov/managing-land/wildfire-crisis. Prescribed fire plays an important role in forest health and in reducing extreme wildfires and their negative impact. These fires also help reduce heavy fuel loads while simultaneously opening the conifer forest structure and maintaining the health of meadow habitats. Fire is also used to enhance native plant communities and cultural landscapes and improve wildlife habitats. Another goal is to provide defensible space for communities and developed areas within and surrounding the CNF. With all fire comes smoke, and the U.S. Forest Service works to mitigate smoke impacts from prescribed fires on the communities in the area.

CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire, Alpine Fire Protection District, and Viejas Fire Department are responding to a structure fire at 5717 Alpine Blvd, Alpine, CA. The IC reports one shed/shipping container well involved with a threat to the vegetation, however the fire is not in the vegetation yet as of 8:16pm.

Firefighters are on-scene off a fully involved residential structure at Camp Marston YMCA Camp 4761 Pine Hills Road in Julian. The incident commander is reporting they have no water. Commercial structure fire response is enroute. No information of the fire has treated the vegetation.

Evacuation Order For Bunny Fire

An Evacuation Order (shaded purple box) and an Evacuation Warning (unshaded purple box) have been issued for the area. A temporary evacuation point is being set up at Olive Pierce Middle School located at 1521 Hanson Lane. The safest route is going north on San Vicente Road or south on Barona Road. CAL FIRE/San Diego County Fire is on-scene of a 1 1/2 acre vegetation fire near the intersection of Gopher Canyon Road & Fairview Drive in Vista/Bonsall.

The IC states the fire is in moderate fuels, with an immediate structure threat and the potential for an extended attack. An additional five type 1 engines along with the hard closure of Gopher Canyon Road from E Vista Way to Little Gopher Canyon has been requested.
