From California to Greece, these pools show how water can become an extension of the landscape itself.

Set against coastal horizons, desert gardens, lush planting, and architecture, each takes a different approach to framing views, shaping outdoor space, and creating a place to retreat.

Set within a sweeping Texas estate in Richmond, Texas, Reagan & André Architecture Studio (Reagan & André Architecture Studio) organizes a residence around a primary stone residence framed by a series of white-clad volumes.

Rather than presenting the home as a single monumental structure, the composition recalls the gradual evolution of a traditional farmstead, where individual buildings are connected through a shared material palette, consistent roof forms, and carefully proportioned outdoor spaces.

Set within the coastal town of Point Lonsdale, Victoria, Australia, Field Office Architecture (Field Office Architecture) organizes a timber-clad house around a north-facing garden that responds to an unusually oriented site.

Designed as a forever home for a semi-retired couple, the residence balances solar access, privacy, and long-term adaptability while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding coastal landscape and neighboring treetops.

Set deep in the historic Shaughnessy neighborhood of Vancouver, British Columbia, Paul Sangha Creative (Paul Sangha Creative) organizes a series of gardens beneath an established canopy of mature trees surrounding a renovated heritage estate.

Originally designed in 1912 by architect Thomas Hooper for Eric Hamber, the former Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, the residence features a renovated secondary dwelling that was constructed in 2004 as an infill addition to the heritage property.

Nestled beside a wetland in Snohomish, Wittman Estes () shapes a residence where domestic life, craft, and landscape converge through a restrained architectural language rooted in climate and materiality.

Drawing from the ancient archetype of the impluvium, the project uses rainwater, reflecting pools, and sheltering roof forms to transform the Pacific Northwest climate into the defining spatial experience.

Perched on the lush floodplain of the Birrarung River in Kew, Victoria, Edition Office () re-imagines a site that once housed a Mediterranean Revival-style home from the 1980s, transforming it into a contemporary ode to nature.

Enveloped in a thick tapestry of native flora, this contemporary residence facilitates a seamless interaction with the landscape, celebrating the unique ecological palette of its surroundings.
