On 24th street in the heart of the Mission, San Francisco’s only latin focused record store is helping keep the Mission’s culture and community alive. Discodelic (), which opened in 2023, sells and reissues vinyl records from Latin America. As cultural and community spaces continue to disappear from the neighborhood, some community members  in the Mission look at Discodelic as a beacon of hope.

As artists and students navigate a shifting landscape of funding and space, public art becomes more than something to look at — it’s a reflection of history, community and the voices that make up the city.
