One of the standout musicians of her generation, Tomu DJ has been steadfast in blitzkrieging anything that may be a trend and then breaking it down into original matter. Inspired by a desire to better understand her own emotions, she first burst onto the scene in 2020 with an unstoppable streak of critically acclaimed releases (Pitchfork, Stereogum, NPR, Dazed, KEXP, Crack+++) that birthed one of the most celebrated electronic albums of the decade, “Half Moon Bay”.
Dissatisfied with the consequences of mainstream attention, Tomu and her friends began forging a new underground style rooted in collaboration: contemplative, sexy and unique as seen in their newest project MTP. For her upcoming live set at Gray Area, she and her band will be playing favorites from across her expansive discography, journeying through breakbeats, ambient, deep house, hip-hop and much more.
With consistently memorable performances and three new albums on the way, Tomu DJ is sharing her “transcendent, uplifting and euphoric sound” with the world.
