Our AiR season is here and we are excited to introduce the stunning Zhané GayByrd.

Zhané GayByrd (She/They) is a Black q***r visual storyteller based in the Bay Area. Through intimate portraiture and narrative-driven media, Zhané creates spaces of healing with reflection, dialogue, and expression, where Black women and non-binary folks can see themselves fully and be seen without condition.

Zhané practice is a form of healing and resistance; an offering to remind us that vulnerability is power, that healing amplifies the spirit of liberation, and that within our stories lies our collective vibrance.

Meet the Makers!

Cat Coppenrath is an Oakland based photographer and artist working across film and alternative processes. She makes photographs as a way of staying close to herself and exploring belonging, often through experimentation and play. Cyanoland is her ongoing cyanotype practice, where she works with UV light to create one of a kind prints that are both a tactile and intuitive creative process. She has a background in social work and is also the founder of Photo Saloon, runs a photography business here in the Bay Area, and leads photography trips with Women Photo Tours. 📷

Meet the Makers!

Marc LaPierre has been painting since he was a kid. He draws his inspiration from nature, mixing surrealism with abstraction. Having grown up dancing ballet, Painting became another artistic escape. He is extremely excited be sharing some new pieces! 📷

Meet the Makers!

Marie has been sewing since she was a kid growing up in the Bay Area, learning by watching her mom sew holiday outfits for her and her two older sisters. Her first real creations were custom purses she’d sew from old jeans pockets and gift to friends for their birthdays — and honestly, not much has changed since then.

Today she focuses on practical homewares made from whatever’s already on its way out: napkins, pouches for travel, coasters cut from the trimmings left over when she hems her partner’s slacks. If there’s a tablecloth that’s seen better days, it might just become a baby pants and a set of napkins — very Sound of Music. The best part of all of it is spotting her friends, and their kids, out in the world wearing and using the things she’s made. 📷
