Actress Shan George Appeals for Assistance After Fraudsters Drained Her Bank Account.
Veteran Nollywood actress Shan Walker George has urgently called for assistance following a distressing incident in which a fraudster emptied her entire bank account.
In an emotional video posted on her official Instagram page on Saturday, May 4, 2024, Mrs. George detailed her ordeal. She identified the alleged perpetrator as Cecilia Chiagoziem Okoro, who allegedly transferred ₦3.6 million from her Zenith Bank account. Mrs. George made an impassioned plea to her followers and the bank, stating, "Please, my people, everyone please help. Please, Zenith Bank, reverse it. I can’t access my app. I’m devastated."
Visibly distressed, Mrs. George described the significant impact this theft has had on her personal life, particularly her inability to provide for her children, which was exacerbated by the incident's timing over the weekend, preventing immediate recourse to bank officials.
Through her video, Mrs. George sought immediate support from both the public and Zenith Bank, emphasizing the urgency of her situation. "I urgently request the help of my fellow Nigerians and Zenith Bank," she implored. "I'm completely destitute and unable to care for my children at this critical time."
She concluded her message with a renewed appeal for aid: “Nigerians please help me. Cecilia has cleared all the 3.6 million Naira in my Zenith Bank account into her Opay. I’m now left without a single kobo. I have nothing to feed my children with, and the worst part is, today is Saturday, I can’t even go to the bank to complain.”
