🕊️ Today is the memorial of St. Vincent de Paul! This French priest devoted his entire life to serving the poor and often sacrificed his health and comfort to care for the sick and needy. In addition, he founded various confraternities to meet the needs of the afflicted, taught parish missions, and formed seminarians. Toward the end of his life he was afflicted with swollen and ulcerous legs which he cheerfully offered up for the poor he loved.

✝️ Happy Feast of Saints Cosmas and Damian! We hear their names during the Eucharistic Prayer every Mass, but what is their story?

✝️ “These twin brothers were born in the 3rd c. in Turkey, and used their skills as physicians to serve the sick for free out of Christian charity. During the persecution of the Roman emperor Diocletian, they were arrested for the crime of being Christians. They were executed by first being crucified while the mob of onlookers shot arrows and threw stones at them, then cut down and beheaded them.” May we be encouraged to used our talents as generously and witness to our faith as bravery. Sts. Cosmas and Damian, pray for us!

🇫🇷 Introduce your children to the brave Carmelite nuns who were martyred during the height of the French Revolution with this new graphic novel! At the peak of the Reign of Terror, sixteen Carmelite nuns from Compiègne were arrested, tried, and condemned to death. On July 17, 1794, they were led to the guillotine. For months, they had offered their lives as a sacrifice for peace, steadfast in their faith. As they ascended the scaffold, they lifted their voices in singing Veni, Creator Spiritus, a final act of devotion. Ten days later, the Reign of Terror collapsed. O holy martyrs, pray for us!
