Making a career move can feel intimidating, uncomfortable, or even… scary.

But says that’s usually a sign you’re growing.

On The Path, he told how optimism helped him go from an under-the-radar recruit to a national champion — and soon, the NFL.

“ No matter what obstacle is thrown at me, I’m going to face it head on with a smile because I’m lucky to even have that obstacle thrown at me.”

Olympic Skier , set to compete on Sunday in Milan despite an injury, says that’s how she approaches life.

“Oftentimes we make the decision that logically make sense, but not what makes sense in our heart and what we believe in, and I think if we make more choices with that type of passion and belief, we’re then willing to work hard enough to succeed at it.”

Good luck, Lindsey!

This month marks the 30th anniversary of The Fugees’ breakout album, The Score—so we asked to score aspects of his own career from 1 to 10. He shares what separates the talented who make it from those who don’t, and what it takes to keep his ego in check.

Before built Union Square Hospitality Group and created Shake Shack, he wanted to be a lawyer. “Wanted” isn’t the right word. He felt it was what he “should” do—until his uncle asked him a simple question the night before his LSATs: “You wanna be a lawyer?” Danny said no.

He never applied to a single law school. Instead, he did the thing he’d been talking about his whole life and built Union Square Hospitality Group, becoming one of the most influential restaurateurs in the world.

His best career advice? “Try as hard as you possibly can to be in the want category and not the should category.”
“ Ain’t no such thing as a straight line between A and B. ‘Cause you’re gonna zigzag backward, forward, sideways.” And that’s okay.

Serhant is thriving in a job he never even wanted. How’d he get there? Two words: “Yes, and.”

When he sat down with CEO on The Path, Ryan shared the philosophy that took him from broke actor to real estate mogul: “Say ‘Yes, and.’ My whole career was built on saying yes to things I was unsure about and figuring it out.”

Before launching his own firm, he was already building the Serhant empire, turning a reality TV casting call into a business catapult, scaling the #1 real estate team in NYC, and using storytelling as his real superpower. He didn’t leave acting behind…he just found a bigger stage.

Now he’s running , redefining real estate through media, education, and AI. And his advice is classic Serhant energy: “If you put in the work today, you’ll wake up one day living the life other people can’t.”

"Where do you see yourself in five years?" Here's how to answer this common interview question ⬇️

❌ Don't talk about your plans to move and start a family
✅ Connect your professional aspirations to the values of the company

Use this question as an opportunity to paint a picture of everything you bring to the table.

The interviewer is trying to see if your goals align with their company, or if you’re just using the position as a placeholder.

Career expert Madeline Mann suggests reframing the question. Next time you’re asked where you see yourself in five years, pretend they asked, "How will this role help you grow your career in a direction you are proud of?”
