Thanks to all who came and danced at year two of BATCAVE NIGHT at Black Rabbit! 🦇 It was was lovely to see some familiar faces and see the dance floor packed all night (I left the dj booth several times to dance). Scott Toxsin is a goth and postpunk DJ whose flesh prison is currently located in Monterey, CA. In Denver he co-founded God Save the Queens: Q***r Punk Night at Hi-Dive Lounge and was a Resident DJ at Dark Tuesdays at Blue Ice Lounge. Since moving back to his birth state of California, he has founded a San Francisco edition of God Save the Queens, which takes place the 2nd Saturday of each month at El Rio in San Francisco, as well as a new monthly party at The Blue Lagoon in Santa Cruz called QounterQulture: Q***r Alternative Dance Party (QQ takes place irregularly, usually one Friday per month). His main loves are classic punk and postpunk, 60s and 70s protopunk, goth rock, deathrock, dark wave, synthpop, queercore, riot grrrl, and smatterings of metal, prog rock and cheesy 80s new wave. In Denver he has DJ'd at Milk Bar, Summit Music Hall, Skylark Lounge, Tracks, The Wrangler, Gladys, Ophelia’s Electric Soapbox, and at Mercury Cafe in support of Psychic TV. In California he has DJ’d at The Blue Lagoon and at El Rio. When not DJ'ing, he's a Mandarin educator and translator of contemporary Chinese fiction.
